I actually liked Under Pressure and some loosies from Logic but him and Gambino just have this issue with sounding like try hard blends of Kendrick, Drake and Cole. Logic isn’t trash rhyming words but the constant pandering and letting us know he’s mixed has made his music unbearable and more so , tarnishes his credibility to the every day “head”. Given I’ve only listed to that Under Pressure album cause it seemed genuine and he was spitting, I think some people expected him to continue that Trajectory rather than make shallow Trendy topic records once his Cac Fanbase decided to act like he’s Top 5 of this decade, where objectively speaking he’s somewhere in the 20-25 range just based off his notoriety and fanbase alone.
I been a Budden Stan since I’ve been posting on forums and I’m sure he feels a way that Logic went OD with the mental health shyt that Budden was rapping about for years and getting Grammy shine that Joe never got(Though I think Pump it up was nominated). The irrational hate Joe gets for whatever reason, for every move he makes sometimes comes off as a tad bit like incels being jealous and envious since his Chick hit list is up there and the average Coli poster is in the DM of 5’s who leave him on read.
Joe was in the game for a long time, has countless classic verses and one of the greatest mixtape series in Mood Muzik, imo. He’s found a lane to become a “voice of hip hop” and his buzz is ironically bigger than ever before. nikkas retired and I can see why some feel like he’s basically being p*ssy getting to throw shade at whoever and use the retirement as an excuse. But just because he was a rapper and a battle tested one at that.. why do Charlemagnes of the world get to criticize rappers and he can’t? Anyone who is unbias knows on Wax, Budden would murder the shyt out of Logic .
