NGL but I find this hard to believe. Has his music even made $60-80 million in profits for anyone over his entire career....and now it's gonna do that decades after the fact and dated? If they had said $10-15 million it would have made more sense. But I don't know anything about the industry.
The article says high 8 figures.. but who knows the actual source of that info

I’d say he got 50 at most of these other artists getting 100 mill

Edit: Future got a high 8 figure deal as well.. this doesn’t make sense

If Spitta gets one or two crossover hits that go big, imagine how much he could sell his catalogue :ohhh:

No... They spoke on this when it first started happening. Think about what happened to Netflix.. It was only them, they had all the content from everyone, then slowly, everyone who owned content just said "Why not keep our shyt and make our own Netflix?" And now every channel has a pay stream also and Netflix had to start buying/creating their own content just to compete...

Well right now you have apple, spotify and tidal... You also have 4 major labels and 100000 indy labels... So if you want to be the music king, buy up all the GOOD music. Leave the 100000 indy labels alone and 80% of the major labels... just grab the big stars. Once you have 5-10-20 catalogs under your belt, well you basically a record label. Instead of having 100 artists to find a hit, you've already bought all your hits and spent no time failing with 99 other artists to do so.

You can now take those hits back to Spotify and get a DIRECT bag from them for your 20 catalogs.. Or just open your own streaming service.. Because we definitely ain't going back to CDs.. Well why can't the artist do that themselves? They could. But they won't have any leverage to step to Spotify and say "give me a great deal or I'll walk." Nobody cares about one artist leaving... But if you have 20 artists, all major hits, and all 20 are leaving.... Well now Spotify is going to sit down and work something out....

And that's just streaming.. Besides that, they still get all the regular shyt that comes with owning someone's catalog

A publishing deal is an advanced on future royalties, they will shop his music for moving and sync deals. I predict with Miguel recently charting with an old song, you will start to see old songs being promoted again. It's cheaper to push an already recorded song from an established artist then to start fresh. The labels were signing artist like crazy to increase their market share on Spotify because then each stream pays more. But they have way too many artist so catalogs are being sold

What’s wild is he didn’t come in the game looking like that. Seems like he adopted the nerdy look over time to connect more with his fan base. Straight Shang Tsung marketing.

And that right there is probably the original him, cause that's what his brothers and dad look like.

Though it might also be that he was always a nerd and just conforming to the people around him until he felt independent enough to be himself.

Genuinely doubt it was fetching in that range tbh. Mainly because not only is logic far from a household name/A-list musician/rapper, he also has literal 0 hits. Including that suicide song that got a lot of artificial boosts - that song pushed the album up to great real copies sold that immediately had the largest second week biggest drop in music history.

Even with licensing that song and having 8 albums or whatever, $60-80mil is insane and seems impossible to recoup especially as time goes on and his status drops even more.

If it's true, then good looks to him for automatically boosting the catalogue of every single rapper. Migos should easily fetch $100 mil for theirs as an example. Ye, even with samples and everything, should easily be above that $175 mil number.

Jay, Drake and a few others should easily be above $700m. So yeah, imma wait for more concrete details because I'm even doubting more than 7 figures.
