You realize the backlash happened weeks before E3 and not the day begore the event...right?
Both companies were taking video game consoles in a similar direction. Its been discussed on here and all over the net during the backlash period. Thank MS for what you have on the ps4.

But that said, this new 1.2M Q3 number now actually puts the Xbox Onebelow the pace of the 360, at least for the quarter. The 360 sold 1.7M units to retailers in Q3 after launch in 2006, while the Xbox One is rather far behind at 1.2M. The One is still ahead overall, but that could change in time if a disparity like this continues to exist, or worse, grows."

As a playstation stan, you know FULL well that the PS2 outsold the PS3 for numerous months AFTER the PS3 initial release. The Xbox 360 was a VERY successful console and will sell well for the next few years, just as the PS2 did well after the PS3's release. Stop acting as if the Xbox 360 was supposed to disappear into thin air just because the Xbox one was released.
