Article definitely has a touch of cism to it.

That being said, the fact Bow Wow and most other rappers can even consider purchasing a car like that probably makes that author .

He calls them "stupid" on their purchases and their math, but their bank account >>>> his.
I dont think this is true.
The guy seemed pissed because Bow Wow couldnt afford it...and didnt know shyt about the car...yet still tried to stunt.

Ive talked to some of those rich cats w/ cars...they are conservative, but they have no problem teaching you how to get money if you are down to work.

We have to do better.....The general consensus is that rappers are small minded and dumb. They have no real wealth and end up "wearing" most of it. They invest in things that depreciate in value.............

All Truth, no cism in that. We should never give folks the leverage to even think shyt like this about us, but we do.

Bottom line is, the wealthiest "rappers", the majority of their money is not from rapping.

The rappers who do make $ have a hard time keeping it because they don't have any financially responsible folks around em, only people with their hand out.

:ehh: Not bad buddy

I do agree with both of you, however, the bolded leaves me with a different impression about it:

It may seem like we’re stating the obvious here, but rappers are ****ing morons. Sure, there are a few exceptions to the rule, where rappers have managed to become successful enough to leverage their image into a variety of businesses (which are almost always run by other, smarter people), but your average, run-of-the-mill rapper’s IQ measures about three points above Forrest Gump. (And even he had Leutenant Dan managing his investments).

It just sounds like he doesn't want to give credit, at all. It's no different when you see a Black scientist/engineer, and some :skip: type of guy (who isn't smart enough to be a scientist/engineer) looks at them and thinks, "Well, they're not as smart as Stephen Hawking." Yet when they see one of their kind is a high school chemistry teacher, they're on some, "Wow, he must be smart because he has a degree in chemistry!"

That bolded part just comes off that way.

So the overwhelming response to the article is to pull the race card? Wow, it's 2012 and we actually have a forum to articulate our opinions and that's the best you can come up with?

My take is that the dude on the automobile forum is a car enthusiast, much like how many of us here are Hip-Hop enthusiasts. What this means is he's a little more passionate than the average Joe. Rappers do have a penchant for purchasing shiny new vehicles without having an understanding of what's under the hood.

So when Bow Wow pays 115% mark-up for an '06 base model in '07, a nikka on a car forum is gonna respond the same way a nikka on a Hip-Hop forum does when first week sales come in and "Studio Rapper A" outsells "Underground Legend X" even though "Underground Legend X" put out a superior product. Cuz we all know that the white folks are the ones buying "Studio Rapper A's" cd.

Not saying that race wasn't a factor in the article, but don't scream 'cism, it's a weak response.

Nope...first paragraph is pretty cut and dry 'cism...he could've very easily shytted on Bow Wow without prefacing it with that "Well we know all rappers are stupid ******s...even the ones that somehow manage to transcend their ******dom and gain some kind of lasting success, it's only because they have smarter more intelligent people handling their affairs and helping them prosper despite themselves. Here's another example of a dumb ****** being a dumb ******" bullshyt

Bow Wow gotta be one of the dumbest mothafukkas around.

This kid sold like 5 million albums, toured, caked off the 106 n Park teenybop peak days, was in movies ... so you know he caked up.

... but his want to be "real", "taken seriously", etc. is driving this idiot into a bad financial situation.

Shoulda just accepted he did well as a child star and kept it movin' ... instead he on a straight trajectory to the bushes.

:birdman:

Yeah you know alot of people say that about these rappers and athletes. I think the money can go VERY quickly especially if you aren't used to managing it. Its probably pretty easy to buy a big house you don't need or an exotic car you cant afford. Plus when the homies and fam got their own needs and debts, and you're going to want to help them.

Then the stupid investments come into play (nightclubs, restaurants, clothing lines etc.)

you could acquire large sums of money at a time. Then a few stupid purchases and investments later end up like :sadcam:

I think had he kept it to Bow Wow and his stupidity it wouldn't have came off as racist and people would have laughed and continued to go in on Bow Wow...But the dude was going in on the intelligence and I.Q of rappers. Painting a broad stroke over all rappers saying they lack the intelligence to make sound business moves. By and large, rappers are of what race?
