Will this breh get his album mastered this time, or is he just content with the 2K sales from the stans that don't care about quality and will cop regardless?

I love zoning to some Banks but c'mon fam you ruining your own magic with the pen with this type sonic quality.
Banks needs whoever mixes Vado’s music to mix his stuff. He always sounds clearer on Vado’s projects

I’m honestly surprised he hasn’t noticed this and hasn’t gotten the same treatment on his projects unless he purposely wants that muffled sound like how RZA purposely wanted Wu Tang to sound a certain way

A lot of people on here don’t understand what mastering is, or how mixing works.

A dude working out of a basement could mix and master an album. It's not rocket science. You can not like how something is mixed and mastered, but that doesn't mean it wasn't done, at all. This is how Banks wants his sh*t to sound. It's gutter music. Dude is working out of the same studios that mad other MC's go to, but everyone has a different vibe and ear. Casuals complain too much about nonsense.

RZA, Erick Sermon, Madlib, and Nottz are perfect examples of legends who want their projects mixed and mastered with more dirt on them. Analog and lo-fi is an option in the studio. If that's the vibe you're after, then you should do it. Everything ain't meant to sound clean and bright.

Meth killed that.

Dope track. Can’t wait for the album. Banks always delivers a solid ass project. He hasn’t dropped a classic level shyt since FNO imo but everything’s been good.

I hear you, but in fairness I wouldn't compare the mix on Banks last two albums to anything Madlib, Nottz or RZA have done. There's a good lo-fi mix and a bad one. The Griselda guys do lo-fi but the projects are still mixed appropriately. Regardless, I enjoy the albums and will still check for them.

breh I think you need to go listen to a RZA, Sermon, Madlib, or Nottz project again if you think they are comparable quality.

If you give me any COTI with the mixing of any of those artists no one is complaining about the COTI's, plain and simple. Their projects sounded great while still being "lofi.

Whoever his engineer is, is trash at mixing, and it's obvious he doesn't pay for mastering.

Please let RZA mix a Banks COTI, you will see how you can do gutter lo-fi vibes with pristine sound quality that only accentuates that mood so much more, and doesn't compromise.
