:mjlol:Stop gaslighting. Most people thought RUN-DMC was on Def Jam.

Nobody thought Run DMC was on no damn Def Jam. LOL!!

They used to always go around wearing Profile jackets with the big ass Profile logo on the back. When their videos came on, it would say "Profile Records". Every Hip Hop head back then would read the credits too, to see which company rappers were on. That was a thing, for us as kids. Them being on Profile was just common knowledge, unless someone is just guessing.

Run DMC/Public Enemy tie.

beastie boys over RUN-DMC is wild

RUN-DMC weren’t on Def Jam,they were on Profile records and Cool J is absolutely correct!

I'm glad Brehs beat me to it.

I can totally understand why people would link Run DMC and Def Jam.

Can't remember how Krush Groove handled it plot wise, but unless you were there, or are really paying close attention, I can see thinking that.

You mad because people told you which label they were actually on?

That ain't nothing people have to "look up", unless you're 15 years old and don’t know sh*t about Hip Hop.

Relax that sh*t, bro. You were wrong. People told you. Move on.

:what:

15? Stop it:mjlol:

Even if your 40 you were barely living when Run DMC was relevant. The Russell connection could easily make one ASSUME they were probably on DefJam. Good thing I dont like to assume.

Common sense says LL Cool J wouldnt put white Run DMC knockoffs over Run DmC if RUN DMC was a possibility.

Then again he did put them over Jay-Z and DMX:scust:#WhatInTheVullture?

No problems with it, since a lot of people for some unknown reasons think that Mount Rushmore is the founding fathers. Just like they think Ben Frank was a president.

No doubt! The thing of it was that Run Dmc was under Rush management which was Russell Simmons management company which ties in directly to Def Jam and that’s the connection that Run Dmc had with Def Jam. I used to wonder why I would see Run Dmc in those Def Jam jackets and It was because they were with Rush Management and Russell Simmons was there first manager.

:mjlol:Stop gaslighting. Most people thought RUN-DMC was on Def Jam.

Even if you thought so in early 80s, by the time the c/o '87 came out, everyone knew they were never on Def Jam. And especially by '90 when you were really paying attention to album credits and labels. And by that time, everyone had at least 1 Run DMC album to go back and look.

That's like saying everyone on Violator in 2000 were IDJMG artists. Or better yet, Lil Kim was a Bad Boy artist.
