I mean, if yall can get him to play to his potential and size you might have something. but his time at Miami was disappointing. he has small hands and doesn't play physical, despite being like 6'5.
Following their most recent loss Saturday at home against Ole Miss that extended their losing streak to four and was by another double-digit margin, Tom Crean finally boiled over.
“It’s all on me,” Crean said after the game. “Because I’m the one who decided to keep these guys. And I get it, because the last thing I can do with making decisions on keeping guys in the program in the spring, is now overly get mad at them because I’m the one who made the decision.
“I live with that every day, and it doesn’t mean that they’re not great kids. But very few programs, when there’s a takeover, when you have guys who haven’t done it at any point really in their career, a lot of those guys move on. That’s what happens when there’s a job change. And I didn’t do that. And I’m not going to complain. And we’ve just got to do everything we can to fix it.”
Loved the Antman signing for Edward's and Crean. Crean seems to be the best at the nation at developing Antman prototype and it's just a tremendous move for UGA. They need to add more talent in this class and they really need to keep Hammonds and Claxton as well. You add more talent and those three and UGA could be the Tennessee of next years cycle
UGA best recruiting class by a mile was Feltons 2004 class lead by Sundiata Gaines which is one of the best in UGA history and maybe the best but underachieved class of 2005 when he signed Channing Toney, Mike Mercer and Lou Williams who never came to campus and jumped straight to the NBA. Outside of that, UGA Basketball recruiting as been bottom tier for over 14 years. Barely signing quality guys. Fox finally seem like he had a class, struggled, got fired and lost Hagans to UK. Crean has signed 3 of the top 15 guys in UGA modern history in just this class alone including the greatest recruit since Dominique in AntmanIt's gonna be tough but it's possible. Biggest problem UGA coaches have had going back to Felton is a lack of a relationship with Metro kids, HS coaches and ATL AAU teams. Crean's an elite recruiter so I expect that to change, but I think we're 1-3 years away at this rate from being a consistent NCAA Tournament team every year, being a top 5 school in the nation isn't even on the radar ATM.
