No, he scored a couple TDs vs. Austin Peay, but his play today is showing people that Fromm doesn't have this job locked up. He's missing too many throws

I personally think that Fromm is very good in his own right BUT with Fields at the helm, the offense would become more explosive due to obviously the added running threat of Fields.

It's kind of like Hurts and Tua at Bama, Hurts is damn good in his own right but the offense just becomes even more explosive with Tua back there.

It’s not quite the same. JF1 isn’t throwing down field yet. Fromm wasn’t good yesterday but his down field throws make the offense more explosive than JF1right now.

Not saying JF1 can’t but we haven’t seen it and anyone calling for a change isn’t thinking clearly based on what we have seen in games.

I like Fromm and I've been one of his biggest supporters since he stepped foot on campus...that said he has struggled this season to move the offense vertically particularly on third and long. His lack of feel in the pocket was on display yesterday with two fumbles. Fromm hasn't progressed into the dynamic passer that I thought he would and with the WR corps, OL and RB group we have there's no reason for that to be the case. It's not all on Fromm but now I'm not convinced he's going to be a consistent down the field passer

Fields on the other hand can do both but they haven't let him make those passes yet. I'd actually compare this situation to Chris Leak/Tebow. Leak was a solid but limited passer and Tebow was a strong runner. Initially in this thread I said we'd see Fields at least 10% of all offensive snaps but I may up that number to 20%. If Fromm is this ineffective (down the field & situationally) you're gonna see Fields ALOT more. With that said Fromm is the starter, but he's gotta step it up. The offense looked lethargic with him in there
