I think part of the reason that Shedeur dropped was because of his talent level. He has an OK arm and below average mobility. Those are two traits you need to be above average in order to be drafted high in R1. Shedeur is excellent in processing and accuracy, so he has that going for him. His comp is somewhere between Geno Smith & Jared Goff.
Another reason he fell, is probably because of the rumors and talk of him & his father trying to dictate where he would be drafted in R1. Remember a few months back when there was talk that Deion would be involved in the process if teams they didn’t like were going to be in position to draft Shedeur? I bet NFL teams collectively said hell no to having to deal with Deion in the draft process. I think that’s also why he slipped. He & his pops thought that it was in the bag that he’d be drafted Top 5 or maybe even Pick 1.

WR is not a need. Did those idiots watch the super bowl and think Luther Burden would've been the difference maker?
OL and RB are the biggest needs followed secondary and pass rush help.

Ward is clearly a better prospect so scratch the Titans. That leaves Cleveland, NYG, NO, and Pittsburgh as the ONLY teams with a QB need. That's 4 teams out of 32 so how is the NFL out to get him? 28 teams weren't even looking his way. His market was small and knowing that why use a 1st on him? Cleveland has the 1st and 4th picks in the second and can take him there. Maybe they want Milroe for his upside. Maybe the Steelers don't think he's a fit for them. Maybe Daboll wants a mobile QB. Whatever the reason it's damn sure not about embarrassing him and Prime. No one's risking their job security for that reason.
If Shedeur came out last year he's behind Caleb, Jayden, Maye, Penix, and Nix. You can probably add Ward over him too if he came out. He's only propped up this year because it's a weak QB class. He's not an elite prospect. If he was mobile he'd be off the board.
Abdul Carter is sitting there at 3. Who the hell is taking Shedeur over him?
People were saying Raiders. They just traded for Geno and Jeanty is on the board.
I think he should've gone over Dart but the way the draft played out was fair. Teams prioritized value and with his limited market they saw they could get him day 2 while filling another need in the 1st. Nothing wrong with that and if Cleveland or Pittsburgh get him today their GM's did great.
Lamar slipped and had 10x the upside. Rodgers slipped. It happens.

this is exactly what I dont buy being super effective but we'll see. and now he needs to be Chase/Jefferson level WR for this trade to make sense
also how does this effective how you build out your DB/CB room when you essentially have someone slotted as a relief pitcher CB, does it mean you dont attract two full time starters?

How many QBs historically go in the first rd? As soon as the league sources made it about his personality and entitlement, that was the smoking gun

Teams base def is nickel so 2 FT CBs shouldn't be impacted, esp if one has slot corner versatility

Sheduer problem is he was too cocky. Everybody else but ward competed in either an all star game or the combine he did neither just said look at my tape. He thought he was above it and it cost him. I mean damn even Deion did at least one drill at the combine

Exactly what I was telling some friends who was hoping we drafted Burden. We already have 3 good WRs. It is far from the team's biggest need. As much as I like Burden this wasn't the year to get him.

Andy Reid has been insane at getting elite talent and nurturing it.
They needed a Left Tackle. It was the no questions asked, highest need position. It wasn’t a question what the biggest need was by a large margin. I’m positive Reid saw the tape, was completely sold and did his complete and thorough due diligence on medical history, odds, etc.
