Think he’s saying he doesn’t appreciate that AZ acts like he wasn’t tripping off tryna get on in rap when in reality he was rapping to him on the phone every night desperate for a deal. Not sure though

Nah. In the Drink Champs interview he takes shots at AZ as well, about how AZ doesn't tell the full story about he met Nas. But the thing is AZ been telling the same exact story for decades now, but excludes most of the names every time. Hell, D-O (however you spell it) rarely gets mentioned, not even when they were extremely close. AZ just doesn't say names like that. You have to ask names...but now you see why he doesn't do interviews.

Lil Shawn always reminds me of a hustler version of Clark Kent the way he likes to "correct" people's stories with himself included.

AZ seems like a genuinely nice guy.. All of this wasn't warranted. The story I remember hearing was Nas and AZ both had a mutual friend who hung out with Nas and AZ I think his name was Yammy who passed away. Anyway he put them on the phone together because he thought they had a lot of similarities with their rap skill. Nas and AZ hit it off and became friends. They both liked each other rap skill and they had a lot in common as far as their lives and surroundings at the time while being basically the same age.

Nah, he has some gripe with AZ. Did you see his Drink Champs interview from a fews years ago? He does the same thing and says AZ wasn't a big hustler or anything...mad at the BET doc for not mentioning him.

Dude tried to play humble but the whole interview he's really just patting himself on the back. Then all the talk about "he thinks he's cool like a glass of water", "you're not tough, you ain't street, you ain't no gangsta". :mjlol:

Think he’s saying he doesn’t appreciate that AZ acts like he wasn’t tripping off tryna get on in rap when in reality he was rapping to him on the phone every night desperate for a deal.

Look at the tone at 7:47, "if you get on these shows and be like 'the homies thought...' nah that's not what happened, bro, knock it off" he's furious he didn't get credit, AZ told the exact same story but all he did was not mention the name of every motherfukker involved like Jayceon would do.

Shawn been a bitter bytch ass nikka for a while now

This thread is refreshing because everyone sees through this broke nikka's BS.

All these nikkas are aging disgracefully.

Who even has a problem with AZ????? nikka for decades minds his business, is doing well in life and not pressed to be all up in the camera woofin about the golden age.

Facts. That’s typically how to gauge a person’s character, imo…do they have issues with a lot of people? Are they loved by a lot of people and you never hear a bad word about them? Do madd people say they’re snakes? Etc…

I’ve never heard one person ever say AZ was flaw or foul except this old, angry, smart dummy who can’t get the “I want to be a menacing, fake cerebral cigar smoking gangster with street lure but also act fake mature and like I don’t” shtick off of him. Disgusting. I would never ever listen to a full interview of him but I’m almost certain 85% is lies that sound true.

But he sonned him in a disrespectful manner. Nobody thought AZ was going to be a super star, nor did he have to be. I detest the Stoute mind frame of endless perpetual growth where everything and everyone has to be the biggest most successful thing ever. AZ's career started very well. He had a radio hit before Nas did, he had a nice blueprint for future albums too. While subsequent albums didn't do what they were expected to do I feel that's partially on the label situation (including Stoute), partially on AZ, and partially on the changing of the market.

End of the day AZ is chilling, doing what he wants to do today.
