I actually like the original better.
Me too. So the first one they just sold out live shows, and when they signed a deal with Koch they wanted to release it but some songs could not get samples cleared, or they ended up on other projects, so they told Koch that they were going to use seven older songs to replace the ones that couldn’t be used, but they ended up just using new songs and not telling them that they were new.

In fact there was a concern on Flash and flare because there was a reference to a Chapelle show sketch that had not happened at the time of the original Chitlin circuit At the time they were worried about getting caught putting new material on there by Atlantic, because part of the deal with Atlantic was that all new material had to go through Atlantic

Songs like third party, war, ladies jam, the beginning, and nobody like me were all recorded after they signed to Atlantic

Pooh and Phonte straight up said NO CD’s but there will be Vinyl.

Pooh especially was like “We ain’t pressing up thousands of CD’s to be left hanging”

That third version is the beat from ‘The Cross’ off Gods Stepson. Second version’s beat I’ve heard elsewhere too.

Lot of Goon rappers press up 100 CDs and call it a day. No way LB wouldn’t have moved 1000. Wasted opportunity.

If an album’s really dope I get the CD for the car and the vinyl. :pdahellclean:

From what Pooh said the cost outweighed the reward.

He was saying that for this album they did EVERYTHING themselves. Paid for samples, paid for marketing, all of it came out of pocket. So pressing CD’s was a cost they couldn’t put into the budget and that it didn’t make sense when CD’s are basically dead.

Not to put words in anybody’s mouth, but i get the feeling from both Pooh and Phonte (reading on twitter) that they are kind of jaded on the prospect of trusting fans to support them when it comes to certain things. I think they are kind of in a “prove us wrong” type of vibe

Hopefully we proved them wrong. This album has gotten pretty much universal praise and I imagine the vinyl will sell well.

I'm a little surprised they're on that prove us wrong vibe to be honest, just because people have been clamoring for them to get back together for so long.

What I'm most happy about is this clearly isn't a one-off. These guys clearly became genuine friends during the making of this album, and as crazy as it sound for me to say this, I honestly think some of the best LB music could be yet to come. I could never have imagine writing that sentence even 3 months ago, let alone 9 years ago...

:blessed: I'm still really loving this album and picking up new jewels from it.

I know there were a lot of remixes but this is the official 9th Wonder remix if you're curious and if you never heard i. It might sound blasphemous but I damn near like this more than the original beat.

finally got around to listening to this. didn't want to do LB a disservice by skimming or not approaching it in a structured linear fashion because i know how much they put into the track order and overall arch of the album. you're meant to approach each album like a novel

anyway i'm speechless right now b. it's that great. and keep it a brick i thought it would be ehh for some reason. the time away? time would maybe pass them by? i dunno but the chemistry is immaculate b. and downright hilarious too. i let my uncle hear the NBA argument and actually had him rolling on the couch. real language i'm jordan and he's kareem, we've had these actual arguments. jesus christ what a body of work these brothers put together. finna holla back later with favorite tracks/quotes but so far goodmorning sunshine is my hands down #1 right there

Haven't got a chance to peep this yet, but judging from the comments in this thread it's dope as hell. I was a little worried
