Listen, Man...I REALLY Want "Coming to America 2" To Be Good....

I felt like it was going to be celebrity-heavy and plot-poor when all the cameo's were announced.

The trailers make the story seem pretty generic:

• Son finds out he's rich
• Fish out of water story where 'hilarity ensues'
• Everything works out at the end

I think what the writers overlooked is that Coming to America is great but Eddie Murphy did a lot of the heavy lifting. If the focal point is on some YouTube comedian for too long, then it is going to peter out at the end.

Lowkey, and I hate to say this, but I have higher expectations about the upcoming Cardi B movie where she "Big Momma House's" at a senior citizens home.

People keep saying that, or "ehh I don't expect much".

If that's the case, then don't even ATTEMPT to remake it. The original is a certified classic, if you can't do it justice then don't bother at ALL. Not everything needs to be revisited in order to "recapture the feeling"....and if it's simply for a money grab, that's even worse.

Leave classics alone.

That's Hollywood's problem, there's nothing original being made anymore.

Other than money, why was this movie made? If they didnt feel the need to do a sequel 20 years ago why now? and its not rated R, I'm sorry but ALL of my favorite comedies are Rated R. All of my favorite Eddie Murphy work is rated R, this has straight to "streaming" cash grab written all over it.. Its going to do well cause nostalgia so there will be no real way to judge its success.

The son looks like he can't act.

That's my only concern with this flick. I went to his IG to see what this cat was all about. I wasn't too impressed

Yea I think for this movie to work the dude playing his son would have to be hilarious, and alot of these new comedians are very bland and surface level with their jokes especially the youtube stars. They have a false sense of celebrity and half the work ethic as your average comedian, idk I just have not been too impressed with the current gen of young comedians, but maybe this dude will surprise me
