Worked for Northrup Grumman. Great company to start working for. Real military friendly on the hiring tip. My homegirl is a lead contract manager for Lockheeds mil aviation dept. brings in major dough(think she came in make $175k take home at 28) then the traveling perks she gets when she goes to the combat expos and whatnot. She's trying to get me to leave the pentagon and come work for her out in Denver somewhere but I'm trying to get on at State. Props on the links, I will pass this on to some of my people's that are getting out soon or retiring

Any advice on how I could find a way into state or the pentagon? I worked for state before but it was a HR intern role while I was in school. I've been tryna get into supply chain/procurement since I graduated in 2011. I'm in New Jersey right now working in Manufacturing Logisitcs but I wanna come home. But as Im sure you know working in the government is so much about who you know until you get your foot in the door.

As a background. I have a BA in Supply Chain Mgmt. 1+ yrs experience in manufacturing logistics

On the logistical tip as far as in the Pentagon, it may be hard to get on because once these dudes get on (mostly contractor, very few GS level spots), they stay on until death. If you can hit DMV, they have an assload of job fairs or I'll just give you the usual answer when it comes to getting on, usajobs.gov I made a few connects at NG that knew some folks here that help me get on. It's cool. Let's me work in my field (policy) and meet people you see on C-SPAN. If you want to get on as far as logistics, I'd try one of the military installations like Meade or especially Bethesda (at worse, Ft Lee down in Richmond since the Army moved most of their logistic type training, etc....down there). Plus like vets, I think they give people who are recent grads a more fair shot of getting thru the door
