Fam it’s not about women being able to beat up men
I grew up on Buffy, Coffey, Ripley,, and others
It’s about the story and characterization they give to the roles that just happen to be women
They don’t build them up or give them meaningful trials of tribulation
They just write Arnold style characters that they think women want
And women don’t go to the box office like that to see action pieces
Women identify with characters that look like them
You know why anime waifus are more imitated than actual females in movies
Those characters are written how women identify themselves
When people criticize (the sane people at least)
They are criticizing how these women are op strong as shyt straight out the gate
Even old king fu flicks with women gave the character first to which you didn’t really go

All the stuff you listed about power levels, character development, training - I get it - and that criteria is unevenly applied when it comes to female characters.
At least in this case, the trailer is telling you and showing you - SHE CHEATS.

I’ve never expected realism from these kinds of movies. The whole point of this genre is to do the impossible, and make everyone into a bad ass. That’s including 120Ib women lol. As long as they can confirm that ol girl. Is some kind of bad ass with special training (assassin/merc/special forces). And the action and writing is good then I’m good.

It'll be interesting how much the delays/new shoots cost them. Wick movies generally operate like modern horror films in that they are (relatively) dirt cheap compared to summer blockbusters, which is what made the IP lucrative.
