disagree with Messi being a fraud, but in terms of overall game and fierceness, Brazilian Ronaldo from 96-02 is the greatest footballer of all time. He was basically what Lebron James would be if he had Michael Jordan or Kobe skills and technique. :damn: I believe there can be another Messi, but I don't feel there will ever be a player like Fat Ronaldo before the serious injuries.
Put him in this current Madrid squad and Barca of the past decade and he's breaking records like them and then some. simple as that.

You underestimate Brazil... There will be another breh soon

So. Cal
they only won by one goal. they needed two to beat nigeria and messi gave them one.
if you score a goal in a 2-1 game you had a huge impact regardless of if it was the game winner

And it was rojos goal in the last minute that sent them through :heh:

U trying to act like messi was the reason.

Gas up a dude who only scored once in 3 games brehs.

Messi great but he been trash this WC

Sure he's good. He's one of the best at ball control and taking on defenders 1v1. Which is by far the most important skill in soccer. However, he has many weaknesses that make him overrated. First of all, he has no right foot. Being totally dependent on one leg is a weakness. He's also very one dimensional as a scorer. All he can do is play the ball on the ground. He can't play the ball in the air. Also for my taste he's not very charismatic or creative with the ball like Ronaldinho or even the Portuguese Ronaldo (who I'm not that fond of).

Lionel Messi reminds me of a soccer version of James Harden. Just as Harden is arguably one of the best one on one isolation players of all-time, Messi is also one of the best at taking on defenders 1v1 and controlling the ball. But just cause you're good at that one skill doesn't make you the best of all-time or even close to it. He has many weaknesses like James Harden has weaknesses which make them both very flawed players in my book.

Lionel Messi = James Harden

You don't know what you are talking about:

Clearly you don't have clue when it comes to football, I've seen dude live on numerous occasions used to be a Barca & Liverpool season ticket holder, saw his first senior game also was at his first classico at the Bernabeau, where Ronaldinho went superman and was applauded by the Madrid faithful, on that same night Messi made Roberto Carlos shyt himself.

I meant he can't play through the air like win headers and score goals that way. I was not talking about passing. I was talking SCORING.

Messi only scores goals on the ground. He can't score through the air cause he's a short unathletic midget.

:beli:

We could do this all day, as for you saying that he is one footed well I've got news for ya thats 75% of all footballers....nobody cares when it's an average player though.

For the record the only truly two footed players I recall were Paulo maldini and Morten Gamst Pederson the rub here though is that both of them trained their weaker foot just so they could play, Maldini became a Milan legend like his father before him and Pederson became known for his dangerous delivery from set pieces wether curling them into the top corner or a beautifully weighed pass for the flick on header etc

19 headers in what? 11 seasons at Barcelona? So like 1 a year when this nikka plays like 50-60 games a season?

Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

So first it was he can't score goals in the air then after being presented evidence it's well he plays how many games and he's only scored X?

You do realise that football is about playing to a baller's strengths, cos yeah we're gonna cross balls into the 18 yard box so a 5ft 5" player can go up for aerial challenges against players who clearly have the height and strength advantage :beli:

And Messi is not a classic centre forward, so I'm not mad he doesn't get many headed goals, that was never his job to start with.

No he isn't the best, maybe best young player.

Man you really do know jack shyt :mjlol:

Talking about headed goals like they are a requirement, it's called Football numb nuts. The fact Messi has achieved all he has and isn't the most athletic only reinforces his GOAT credentials.

The fact he has weaknesses that other players like the black Ronaldo don't have prove he ain't on their level. I never said Messi wasn't a decent player. He's the soccer version of James Harden IMO. But no one would ever say Harden is anywhere close to one of the best of all-time. Same with Messi. He's a player with clear and evident flaws that eliminate him from the GOAT discussion.

No. It just proves his accomplishments are because of the talent around him in Barcelona and Argentina.

Messi is a product of the players around him. He's not talented enough without them to achieve anything. As you admit yourself he isn't athletic at all and lacks size.

Just like your argument your comparisons are awful.

You do not need to be an out and out athlete to be he best, Messi is a greater player than Ronaldo and he is the superior athlete.

It's about being the better football player, Messi is probably the only player in the game that could be the perfect striker, perfect winger, perfect CM and perfect #10.

You really do lack knowledge about the game, the fact he isn't the best athlete means jack shyt. He elevates Barca and Argentina NOT the other way round.

Keep hyping up some midget cac that ain't never done anything on the global stage. Meanwhile the black Ronaldo won a World Cup trophy by himself.

This never happened ever.

I've watched every WC since the 80's nice try though

And every player is flawed, fact is I'd take Messi over CR7 as he brings more to the table in terms of creativity and I still don't know why your insisting that not scoring a shyt load of headers makes him garbage.

I'll be real both Lionel & Christiano have had bags of help in terms of teammates so meh

Sidenote: the top club teams would pulverise most international teams.
