Though I agree profoundly

the only counter point I have is that WWE (and wrestling) is not inherently merit based. Sure, merit can be a factor sometimes (See Kofi, and see Becky Lynch) but if you are an actor on a TV show, tweeting that you want to be the star isn't how you become the star. It doesn't matter how great of an actor the man who played "Waldo" on Family Matters was, the show was written around Steve and the Winslows. (and to keep it a buck, it was originally just about the Winslows but the Steve character took off so they pivoted :manny:)

The same goes for WWE. Going on twitter and proclaiming what you want out of a scripted television show may not get you what you want. I have no clue what he is doing behind the scenes :whoa: but if it were me, I would be the first one to the venue each show at TV, I'd be buying the writers coffee, I'd be pitching ideas, coming up with and testing catch phrases on social media, etc. etc. in order to get a higher placement on a TV show.

I think it's fantastic that he has ambition and I :salute: him, I think he's great. A better use of time would be for him to use twitter to cultivate a fanbase that translates into merch sales, and a significant fan interest. Calling out boogeymen (for things to be interpreted the wrong way) on twitter is only going to make the people who make decisions sour on you. And in an industry that is not fully merit based, you have to realize that you can't just climb the ladder on your own.

Annnnd this is how I feel, and have always felt about wrestlers hoppin' on social media to talk about stuff to a bunch of people who are never gonna be able to help improve their standing. That's the new wave shyt that so far has not helped ONE MF's career go any better. It reminds me of a relationship I was in some years ago, when I repeatedly found myself tellin' her, "you airin' all these issues out to 400 muhfukkas who don't even know me or you and don't know WTF is really goin' on... how is that helpin' or fixin' anything?" That social media outcry shyt is overrated and does nothing but satisfy "fans" who wanna know all the dirt. It all sounds like shyt that should be addressed with the people who actually matter. All this same energy could be applied to actually gaining fan support.

I couldn't imagine Steve Austin or Rock or HHH going on the internet to complain about how they don't like their onscreen roles... and I'm sure all three of them at one point or another weren't crazy about their places on the card, but they probably took it up with the people they needed to talk to, not random anonymous people who can't do shyt about it.

Dana Brook is seeing a pay off from jumping on social media and complaining about not being used. :francis:

Tapping out to Ronda Rousey in one second and hella-jobbing every time she's on TV... yeah, the pay off looks awesome.
she went from not being on tv to getting more air time and is now in the women's MITB match, because she went online and complained. This goes back to what I said in one of the sasha threads. Black people and white people can do the same thing, but the black people will be told to just be grateful and work harder, the white people will be told good job for sticking up for your self and showing initiative. The Revival or Luke Harper complain about being misused and threaten to quit and people tell them good job, Sasha threaten to quit people call her entitled. :mjlol:

Breh... all the MFs are complainin' to the wrong people... all of 'em.

Now on the flipside, when/if they leave, SURE! Talk about the shyt you felt was wrong, etc., etc... but this "I'm upset about my push so I'm gonna tell everybody on Twitter" shyt is corny. Cause the people on Twitter only care enough to retweet the shyt and talk about it for 20 minutes. Just like these people who hop on Facebook and bytch about a relationship that everybody knows they ain't left and probably ain't gonna leave- half of the MFs readin' that shyt don't care and the other half think it's funny.

The ongoing saga in regards to Lio Rush's heat continues, and Wednesday Fightful heard from the man himself.

During an extended Twitter thread, Lio Rush responded to rumors of backstage heat and issues with co-workers. Over the past week, several stories have emerged detailing Rush's deteriorating reputation backstage. During that thread, he singled out Fightful -- who reached out both before and after the tweets.

"My issue has never been with Bobby (Lashley)," Lio told Fightful. "Being with Bobby has helped the both of us out tremendously. It’s given me speaking confidence I didn’t know i had. I never was a promo guy on the indies. But being with Bobby made me a promo guy. My issue isn’t with my on screen role. My issue is the fact that I haven’t been on meet & greets with Bobby, haven’t been getting paid for merchandise for us that has my catchphrases on them. (I) have been sent to live shows and TVs and forced to pay for my own rental for 5 days as well as hotel while not making enough money to do so. Walking around broke in the biggest sports entertainment industry that there is while having two kids and a wife to support."

A story from PWInsider had also been published this week, stating that Rush refused to "pay his dues" so to speak by providing water to veterans on a European tour, as is the case with many main roster rookies. Rush would address that as well.

"It’s not about race and it has never been, but public perception is important to me and when we have fans that travel all over the globe and watch us get off of buses and into hotels, the LOOK of a black kid carrying waters and bags for other wrestlers is just not a good look, especially when I’m trying to portray myself as a superstar as well," Rush told us.

On Saturday, Fightful revealed that there was a situation that garnered heat on Rush involving Finn Balor. Several Fightful sources stated that Balor let Lio Rush know that Vince McMahon and other management would probably look down on Rush's wife sitting in on rehearsals. Rush would somewhat deny that story, and instead blame someone else.

"Me and Finn are cool ,and my wife has never been an issue. There is someone who works for WWE who has hated me since the day I’ve worked for ROH and now that they work for WWE they’re leaking false information to get me released. At a certain point, I have to defend myself so that’s what I decided to do. We’re all human, and we’re all grown ass adults. The kind of shyt the flies backstage is ridiculous and I’m surprised more people aren’t speaking up," Rush said.

As far as Lio's disappointment with how wrestling media covered the story, he opened up about that, and the way that he'd like to see things handled.

"These sheets should spread positive messages to the world but they only want to spread false, negative reports to damage someone else's career. What’s wrong with spreading truth? Thank you for reaching out to me, and I appreciate you for doing that. I honestly do. I’ve never been about the BS or politics or anything else rather than showing up to work, doing my job and providing for my family. I grew up in the worst parts of DC, and certain things that I was taught will always stick with me and why I’ve gotten to where I am now in life. I realize that people will talk regardless of how much positivity you try and push out into the world," Rush closed.

It's worth noting that WWE typically doesn't provide wrestling websites with talent interviews or breaking news stories, as is often done.

When a source that originally contributed the the report of Rush's heat read the Select story with Rush's words, they said they didn't think that he was a bad person, instead "arrogantly oblivious to what a WWE gig requires."

Ronda probably showed up when she showed up and then went right to her bus after she did her thing and went home. None of that shyt applied to her. I don’t deal with the picking & choosing at all

GTFOH:camby:

They practically BEGGED Ronda to join their sinking ship.

She's a legitimate star who headlined Wrestlemania.

Hell, she was the most famous female athlete on the planet at one point.

You're comparing her to Lio fukkin' Rush?:gucci:

Lmfaooo I put money that Lesnar ain't do none of that shyt when he started.

They begged that nikka to join the WWE too.

He was All-American Wrestler.

He never wanted to be a pro wrestler, they had to convince him, that's why he got paid way more than everybody else, which is probably why he's such a dikk.

And even still, Jim Cornette put a revolver to his dome for thinking he could do whatever he wanted.

A rookie was Strowman in 2015 with the Wyatt family who literally was in wrestling training for a year straight at the PC before heading straight to TV. Never paying one due. Not Lio who was in the ring working nationwide earning his way to the big leagues. You think Braun had to carry bags in 2015-16? This question has nothing to do with physical stature, placement on the card or Vince booking. All having to do with a fake rites of passage.

Dude, Braun Stroman has had TONS of heat, specifically because he didn't stick to the code, including being taken out of matches and off TV for leaving backstage before the event was over and not having proper etiquette backstage.

Even Braun aint immune to that shyt.

This. Miss me with all that "junior wrestler" and "young lion" shyt :mjlol:
Carry you own damn bag and get you own water if you thirtsty

And Randy Orton would shyt in your bag and you wouldn't say or do shyt, or you'd be back in CZW in no time:mjlol:

Carny locker room culture is some goofy-pick and choose when to apply the rules-bullshyt. Show us pics of Ronda carrying bags and "paying dues". Or Brock or Angle. Show us picks of Ken Shamrock paying dues.

How many pics are there of anybody doing that shyt?

shyt like that tends to stay private, just like the wrestler's court stuff that went on for years without the fans knowing about it.

Y'all keep comparing stars that were begged by the WWE to join their company with low level indy guys who never drew a dime getting a chance to "live their dream".

That's like comparing LeBron coming into the NBA with some dude who was in the fukkin' CBA, well of course the teams' not gonna treat him the same as they treat that nikka.

Who has come over from ROH in the last year? It shouldn’t be difficult to narrow down who Lio is talking about. All this hazing bullshyt should’ve been deaded a long time ago. The E in its current incarnation shouldn’t be allowing this type of stuff, especially being that they’re all about Be A Star etc...

WRESTLING / NEWSLio Rush Says a WWE Employee Wants Him Fired, Is Spreading False Rumors About Him

May 1, 2019 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

– Lio Rush has spoken out about the host of rumors regarding heat against him backstage, claiming that a WWE employee wants him fired. Rush spoke with Fightfulabout the recent reports of heat over an incident with Finn Balor and issues from the European tour last November.

In the response, Rush said that there is an employee spreading false information about him in order to get him released by the company. You can see his comments below:

On working with Bobby Lashley: “My issue has never been with Bobby. Being with Bobby has helped the both of us out tremendously. It’s given me speaking confidence I didn’t know i had. I never was a promo guy on the indies. But being with Bobby made me a promo guy. My issue isn’t with my on screen role. This nygga is not being paid or accommodated and Orton is out here doing RANDOM RKOs and not doing a lick of real work and they paying him like hes actually some kind of star. A non star...a nobody..horrible for ratings, matches, cant draw, etc. A real hack and they say he got his own tour bus.. city to city like he's Carrie Underwood? Lmao.

Even when Cripple H was on top in 2000, he was bytching about that 96 shyt. He's weak..he always was..he's white privilege fully realized. He's also proof of his stupid Stephanie McMahon actually is.

Try to keep up bruh... I'm not talkin' about a promo on TV... I'm talkin' about in real life. Doubt the guy was hoppin' on AOL Chat to complain to marks about why they made him job all summer.

Promo? Levasque lives and breathes on having taking heat for why he couldnt be where Austin was at the time. He cried about that for years in every legit interview he did...he's been playing the talent maker in the last few years in interviews but that's not what he was about. People still see him as a hoe...Ambrose made fun of him needing Stephanie's permission like a month ago and the crowd was laughing at him like he was a moist ass bytch. Chanting "Yes he does"...pitiful.

That carrying bags thing reminds of when they tried to make Booker T carry Stone Cold's bags because I think he injured him and one point and Booker T was like :hhh: No.

Was there heat with Seth Rollins?

Yes. He was almost fired multiple times in developmental because he was having similar attitude issues until he was pulled aside and told it was his last chance to get his shyt together or he was gone and it worked.
