I'm in the Healthcare field studying to be a nurse. One would assume food related illness first. He didn't ask me what I ate previously, what meds I'm taking, have I been out the country recently, bug bites, dehydration, vitamin deficiency (had he have asked I would have told him that I'm anemic which is a major cause of weakness and fatigue), family history which may be a genetic illness setting in early, and the list goes on and on. You have to knock out a few things before coming to std questions.

Women get pregnancy test & std test all the time in the ED. Medicaid and some insurance companies make that shyt mandatory before they can even dive into deeper things. There's a hierarchy of things to rule out dependent on what you present with. It's not about them "believing" you. Do you know how many people say "I don't do drugs", get a UA and they're positive for weed, benzos, and coke? You can't place subjective data as objective when there's test that can answer your questions . The fact they even tested you for all that makes me think you had some vaginal type of discharge. Of course you wouldn't include that in your rant

I've been saying this for almost 5 years on here whenever studies come up saying bw are the queens of stds. ww are more likely to have private insurance and they can't get their health records to include them in studies so only the ww with free healthcare have their records included so only a small portion is included and that makes it seem like bw have a much higher rate of having stds same with abortions and other health issuses.

I always got negged, called stupid, or a liar, or told that, that's not important, or that I'm pulling the "bu bu but white women do it too", though.

Very true. Im a virgin yet I get secretly tested for Stds all the time but I only find out when I get the lab reports. Like it's impossible for a 23 yr old black woman to be a virgin and std free. Hell when I was 14 I was really sick one day and everytime I raised my head I got dizzy. I didn't eat all day and stayed in a horizontal position until my big brother carried me to a nearby clinic. A black male doctor immediately questioned whether or not I was sexually active. Like really? A 14 yr old girl feels dizzy and weak and your first thought is an std? I told him no, I'm not sexual active in any way, shape, or form. He gave me a blood test and sent me packing with no treatment. 2 weeks later (by this time I was all better) I got a lab report and that mother fukker tested me for every std imaginable. From HIV/AIDS to syphilis and gonorrhea. He tested me for everything. Of course everything was negative. So he wasted my time and money and drew my blood for no reason when I TOLD him I'm not active. I still don't know why I was so sick that day. But for a Healthcare professional to automatically assume I have an std and not believe me when I say I don't speaks volumes as to how black girls and women are viewed.

The same thing happened to me at 10! I was asked if i was sexually active at 10!

Ive taken and passed AP 1 and 2 lab and lecture. Im done with all my prereques and I start nursing school September 1st. I know what im talking about.

Then they start questioning whether or not you've given all the facts. And if you know anything about Nursing you would know that if a patient is exhibiting a certain set of symptoms you can end up killing patient by wasting time testing for irrelevant shyt. If a patient comes in with crushing chest pain first line of thought is heart attack and other cardiovascular illnesses, Second line of thought is Pulmonary. You'll kill somebody thinking "hmmm crushing chest pain??? Let me check for hemorrhoids in his ass first". What if I was suffering from a virus from poor quality seafood and it was life threatening? And his ass is busy checking if im lying about fukking?? Do you not realize how extremely dangerous this racist line of thinking amongst healthcare professionals is to the lives of black women? How many have gone to doctors with acute illnesses and got checked for stupid shyt instead of logical shyt? Dont come at with the disrespect.

When it's black women these studies are taken at face value.

Those are nothing, but facts! I have several cousins who always have a STD and go to different areas to be seen/checked and get medication. Very reckless when it comes to sex, not protecting themselves, having sex several times a day with different dudes with no condom. One of them had a boyfriend and he had chylamdia and he was trying to figure out how he got it. She had a fit, trying to fight him about it, eventually they broke up. She told me days later she had it and got her medication for it, but she wasn't going to tell him. The way she reacted to him having it, you would've never thought she was the one who had it.
