Those are nothing, but facts! I have several cousins who always have a STD and go to different areas to be seen/checked and get medication. Very reckless when it comes to sex, not protecting themselves, having sex several times a day with different dudes with no condom. One of them had a boyfriend and he had chylamdia and he was trying to figure out how he got it. She had a fit, trying to fight him about it, eventually they broke up. She told me days later she had it and got her medication for it, but she wasn't going to tell him. The way she reacted to him having it, you would've never thought she was the one who had it.

I swear the more I think about this thread the more comical it seems. This is really some ass backwards shyt, where the racism in the medical community against black folks means black folks get tested more often for STDs and helps lead to fewer infections. Meanwhile white folks are not being tested because they are "assumed" to be clean, thereby leading to sterility, cancer, anguish and more infections. And this is all being done because black folks are being stereotyped as unclean.

When young women visit the emergency room complaining of symptoms that mirror those of a sexually transmitted disease, many aren't tested for a possible infection — unless the young woman happens to be African-American, that is, provocative new research shows.

Uninsured young women often rely on emergency rooms as their main source of medical care, and missing an STD diagnosis could have severe consequences for them and their sexual partners, say doctors who conducted two separate studies recently presented at a meeting of the Pediatric Academic Societies. Untreated conditions such as chlamydia can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease and infertility, as well as undermine public health efforts.

However, young African-American women and girls who show up in the ER are far more likely to have their sexual histories taken and to be tested for STDs than young Caucasian women and girls, researchers say. (Researchers did not specifically study rates of STD testing in Hispanic or Asian young women.)

My cousin said CACs had the face b/c the estimates for STDs were redone and were far greater than previous estimates. She said burning white chicks have flown under the radar until health complications forced her hospital to change policy.

Very true. Im a virgin yet I get secretly tested for Stds all the time but I only find out when I get the lab reports. Like it's impossible for a 23 yr old black woman to be a virgin and std free. Hell when I was 14 I was really sick one day and everytime I raised my head I got dizzy. I didn't eat all day and stayed in a horizontal position until my big brother carried me to a nearby clinic. A black male doctor immediately questioned whether or not I was sexually active. Like really? A 14 yr old girl feels dizzy and weak and your first thought is an std? I told him no, I'm not sexual active in any way, shape, or form. He gave me a blood test and sent me packing with no treatment. 2 weeks later (by this time I was all better) I got a lab report and that mother fukker tested me for every std imaginable. From HIV/AIDS to syphilis and gonorrhea. He tested me for everything. Of course everything was negative. So he wasted my time and money and drew my blood for no reason when I TOLD him I'm not active. I still don't know why I was so sick that day. But for a Healthcare professional to automatically assume I have an std and not believe me when I say I don't speaks volumes as to how black girls and women are viewed.

Damn another case of this. This has to be embarrassing smh.

I've been saying this for almost 5 years on here whenever studies come up saying bw are the queens of stds. ww are more likely to have private insurance and they can't get their health records to include them in studies so only the ww with free healthcare have their records included so only a small portion is included and that makes it seem like bw have a much higher rate of having stds same with abortions and other health issuses.

I always got negged, called stupid, or a liar, or told that, that's not important, or that I'm pulling the "bu bu but white women do it too", though.
