only relevant hip-hop artsit in NYC are JAY and NAS.. Nas is 38 and Jay is 44

NYC hasnt ha a relevant new HIPHop artist since 50..

the old guard in NYC )jay, nas etc.etc.. all the veteran rappers havnt hepled ANY new NYC artist to BLOW..

^^ why NYC been irrelevant the same old artsit hthat dropped 20yrs ago still run that shyt and wont help any new NYC artist get on

LOOK AT LA

the NEW WEST IS RISING and THA GAWD of the WC .. DRE is helping them adn puttin energy and time behind them.... the biggest legend in WC hip-hop history helping the new breed get on is a beautiful thing to see... (jay, nas should be doing the same)

the legends need to help the new blood get on like dre doin with kendrick..

until that happens NYC will continue to be IRRELEVANT

Today's I Love NY mix on Hot 97 got me thinking:

What's the best NY song...?

My bad if you guys already discussed this, but I think TONY and Welcome to NYC are neck and neck.

he was also there on 9/11 which im guessing is also a huge reason for his sentiment.

he has previously said this before.

basically, something bad always happens to him while hes there.

The man never seems to take a break, and with a long awaited album scheduled to hit stores this November,, expect his work ethic too only be cranked up a few more notches.

We're talking about none other than 50 Cent, who has been named the headliner of the Atelier Festival in Dubai set to take place on October 19.

At least another four Grammy Award-winning artists and two DJs, to be named later, are expected join him on the billing at the event which is expected to draw 20,000 people.

50 Cent last performed in Dubai in 2007 at Media City Amphitheatre.

“50 Cent is a legend in urban, hip-hop and rap, and is a brand himself,” said Mac.S.Far, chairman and managing director of the event organisers Alchemy Project and founder of Atelier. “All people of all ages know him and are familiar with his music, which is perfect for this all-ages music festival. Without exaggeration, in my opinion, he is the most popular hip-hop/rap artist that lives.”

“50 Cent’s show has always been full of energy. He always delivers a great performance and this time he will be accompanied by his band, making this experience even more memorable. 50 himself is very excited about this festival and is looking forward to performing live at Atelier/Festival.”

The legends don't need to help the new bloods do a goddamn thing. Was Rakim "helping" Nas or did Nas write and record classic verses and albums HIMSELF that appealed to the masses? Did Kool g Rap "help" Jay-Z or did Jay-Z grind his ass off for YEARS, starting his OWN record label, and craft hit album after hit album that appealed to the masses by HIMSELF? Since when has Hip Hop been about babysitting nikkas careers?

its not about helping them.. its about how their holding them back..

guess its ust that NYC mentality... and this mindseet is why NYC is irrelevant in 2012...

msot other cities/regions work together to get more exposure and help one another out...

LA: snoop/dre who are = to Jay/NAS in status .. and they hop on and try to help out fellow LA cats.. whens the last time JAY or NAS did that?
