I feel like ASAP needs to be on this list.![]()
He should.
He catapulted that whole cloud rap shyt to the front of the underground basically.
Drake/Tiller/Lorde/Yung Lean/Carti all took from it.
I feel like ASAP needs to be on this list.![]()
nikkas really listen to Lil B in real life?
I’ve never heard anyone playing his shyt or talk about him in real life in my 32 years of living
id have to say lil be before keef, kee f the gen afterWayne shouldn’t count, if you said earlier.. I’d vote for him.
it’s Chief Keef, EASILY!
i would consider wayne #1, but lil b influence cant be denied
brehs in this thread questioning Lil B whole career and if anyone actually listens to his music
Edit: ThankYouBasedGod![]()
Easily Wayne.
All this generation impersonates
facto
my initital thought was wayne
but then i began to think how rap is from acts domestically like Pop, to overseas. Like those italians that was posted here
And almost all, is linked back to keef and his influence
Keef def has a case to be the winner here
I'm pretty sure it was a standard album roll out, he gradually released singles and the album had a set-date months ahead. I think what you're talking about is more attributed to streaming and the ability to do quick/surprise album announcements.1) Kanye's roll out for MBDTF spawned the whole (insert day) where artists were releasing using on said day every week.
2) Sonically, a lot of producers have cited Kanye as an influence
3) That whole Illuminati inspired shtick that a lot of these rappers still run with.
4) And yes Kanye had a big influence on fashion as well.
NegativeI get you but Keef and by extension Chicago influenced the culture far more, lingo style, the dances production and music. I think even when sosa started getting into his singing bag, he influenced the Uzi Verts And co of this generation, Flocka or Gucci were not doing that.
2010s encapsulates 2010-2020.
*Stuntin' Like My Daddycame out in 2006
A Milli came out in 2008
Wayne's biggest hits technically came out in the 2000s
*All that weirdo rap (that I don't dislike) that Lil B was doing was also being done by other West Coast weirdo emcees (it just didn't become a living meme like Lil B became)
*Same Damn Time came out in 2011
*Don't Like came out in 2012
Future or Chief Keef are the answer to this thread
Future is probably the correct answer
*Never heard a Playboi Carti song. I mean, I probably clicked on one of his videos, but just once.
*Like it or not, Drake came out in 2010 with Best I Ever Had and he's influenced alot of cats too.
*If you're counting half-decades, this came out in 2016 and he's given birth to plenty clones:
