That makes no sense. How are you going to say you can't judge albums too early then go on to say an album that came out not even three months ago is definitively better?
i was already sick of MBDTF a few weeks out of its release, and all those songs Ye was releasing on twitter. everybody was required to declare Kanye a genius or else. i liked the songs, but didn't love them, and honestly if i never heard a song from that album again outside of dark fantasy i don't think i am losing out. sh!t, there was a critical backlash to the album by the beginning of the following year.
with the Nas album, that ish got at least 5 songs I'm gonna rock forever.

Nas is my dude, so I haven't said anything because I feel like he doesn't get the shine he deserves offline, but you guys are overrating the fukk out of this album.

How is this Nas a better rapper than God's Son Nas?

I don't know, maybe my ears have changed, but I liked this album (made sure not to read a single review on here about it until I heard it myself) but didn't love it like THAT. Yet, people are here talking about this shyt like he's rapping like on Lost Tapes or something.

All this, "still spitting like he's 17" and I'm like :wtf:

Say what you want, but an 8/10 is about right.

Not in love with "Queen's Story"

Really like "Accident Murders" but for some reason I feel like it could be on a Ross mixtape. I just felt like I had to say that :yeshrug: still a 4.25/5 track.

You Wouldn't Understand - sounds like a Joe Budden casio keyboard beat and nothing mind blowing was said here.

Reach Out - Nas' lyrics were on point, but I guess I'm just tired of this beat at this point and Mary didn't add much to this track.

World's an Addiction - this type of song has been done better, by Nas himself to be honest. But love the eerie vibe.

Summer on Smash - :what: Miguel has no basis being on this track, I could've been paid to say that shyt. It's like when Akon was yelling "wheeeee-hoooooo" on that Gwen Stefani track. Swizz Beats should never be on a hook either.

The Don -

The Stay, Cherry Wine, Bye Baby trio to end :king:

I guess what I'm saying is, for once, these guys got it right.

I don't know what or who a Metacritic is but if this 81 is on a scale of 100 then they are discredited to me as a reputable record reviewer. Everyone i know who knows true hip hop and listens to lyrics has told me they love this album and everyone has a different favorite track. I'm not the biggest fan of The Don myself. I don't like the beat as much as other people but somewhere their is a 40 year old dude jamming to that shyt remembering the 90's when rap was raw. So i can't hate on it, it's just not one of my prefered tracks. But overall this album is at least a 95-97 on a scale of 100.

You're misunderstanding, its a review aggregate. They don't review shyt, they take all the reviews and even out the scores to come up with a final score. It's flawed inherently because some reviewers review out of 5, others out of 10, others out of 100, others review only in .5s (8,8.5,9). There's a user score thats separate from critics, but every review/score on those is either overscored or underscored (if they hated something about it). I hope you're getting the point. If an artist/show hits universal acclaim, that's pretty fukking good. Quibbling about the numbers is unnecessary. With that said, i don't fukk with metacritic :russ:

:lolbron:

no offense, but we still living in an era where one man's opinion trumps everyone else's. I'm not saying LIG is better of kanye's album is better. But the fact that you were sick of it after three weeks or the fact that you didn't love the songs. does that really mean shyt to anyone except to yourself (the only person it should matter to)?

Nas is my GOAT :to: before you say shyt back thats accusatory

Don't understand how anyone can not feel the Don. Then again, I'm used to those Hip-Hop meets Dancehall sample records that were popular in New York and London so it may just be a regional thing.

The Don is just a slightly above average track. I prefer the live version he's been playing where he leads the sample in and they switch it up on the chorus. It gets live as fukk. Honestly, if he just rocked over the sample it woulda been a better song I think ...

Thanks bruh. I actually didn't understand. That's why i was asking in my first quote but the fukkhead Capitol (whoever the fukk that is) and made me lose my train of thought.

MBDTF is 94 based on 40 critics:youngsabo:

I know Kendrick and Lupe dropping, but we really don't know what to expect from them. It's going to take some insane release to top GFID.:lawd:
:wtf:

R.A.P. Music - Killer Mike _Metacritic score 85/100
Life Is Good - Nas _Metacritic score .81/100
GFID - Rick Ross _Metacritic score .70/100
