i havent herd the Frank record, but no way is MBDTF better than Life IS Good. like i said, only one song on MBDTF is truly eternally classic, Dark Fantasy, everything else is at this point, cloying and irritating. thats the problem with rating music too early, that album just ok. its too many voices, and not in a good way, its pretentious. meanwhile, Nas basically a near 40 year old version of Nasty Nas of Illmatic and bringing that same insight to mature life. way better than MBDTF.They are both better albums

Why would you only want those artists?. First I would say that you won't get an unbiased opinion from a rapper, specially if you know him. And then also why only people in their mid 40s from New York or LA and not different types of rapper from different eras, in different ages from different places?Nas is my man but honestly who cares what people outside of the culture think?
So called critics inside of the culture couldn't even get Killer Mikes album right, so to me the majority of their opinions are useless...
I'd rather hear what KRS, Ice Cube, Common, Primo, Dre and Kool G Rap think about an album..Not some hipster from Williamsburg or 55 year old baby boomer from the upper Eastside...

I think the review system is the best system we have as far as reviews go, it can be a 55 year old hipster from Williamsburg (who usually has been a fan of hiphop since forever) or a 24 year old black dude or a 32 year old black woman who used to an A&R etc. If it's a music magazine, you know that thousands of people fought for the position. If it's a daily paper, it's very likely that it's often some random dude.
I don't know what or who a Metacritic is but if this 81 is on a scale of 100 then they are discredited to me as a reputable record reviewer. Everyone i know who knows true hip hop and listens to lyrics has told me they love this album and everyone has a different favorite track. I'm not the biggest fan of The Don myself. I don't like the beat as much as other people but somewhere their is a 40 year old dude jamming to that shyt remembering the 90's when rap was raw. So i can't hate on it, it's just not one of my prefered tracks. But overall this album is at least a 95-97 on a scale of 100.
Isn't a 95-97 the equivalent to having a 4 and a half or a five mic album? If it is then i stand by my previous statement.
You're wilding. I LOVE the don!!!
