this isn’t shocking news, he was an un guaranteed player that got a look during extended preseason rosters. every team is going to be cutting players before the season starts

He got hurt. He was probably going to miss all of preseason and seeing how he was a long shot ro make the roster, why bother.
This happens all the time. But because of his last name its somehow a big deal.
He was on the bottom of the roster trying to get put on. The worst thing he could possibly do is get hurt under these circumstances.

But if you look at the box score you will see a DNP - sprained ankle next to his name.
Then you just go 2+2=4.
It's kinda sad actually. He worked hard to get his shot and gets hurt. No team under the circumstances would keep him. He wasnt drafted. He was treated like any other random undrafted free agent. Hopefully he will get another shot.
