i'm not saying artists should or shouldn't sign these deals. ultimately it's up to them to know if it will have ended up to be a good move or not when the dust settles and you add up the plus or minuses. my only beef is them complaining after the fact when they actually chose it as if the labels, agents, managers, etc were running a charity. i feel like it's entitlement.

Nah I agree with that 1000 percent. You can get in the game is just some artists want their pound of flesh back afterward as if they got hot independent. They need to think back to that day they was thrilled on myspace that Artist X even emailed them for a beat.

i half agree. it all depends on your grind and resourcefulness. but in most cases you are right.

If you're getting noticed by Gucci and Flock then you'll be alright. Remember he signed the deal with Deb, not Gucci. I feel ya on saying he should check with his lawyer. But to play devils advocate, im sure his money aint as long as Debras as well as his contacts not being as blazin.

Cuz if he did take her to court the shyt would just go on for YEARS and he'd have to constantly pay, pay & pay..almost more than what he'd recieve. Cuz shyt like that goes for years alotta times and if you do cut it you dont get it until years after that either. Then she would prolly make some type of lawsuit back at him, then of course all the payment for lawyers etc etc.

Him doing this is to inform his audience and use his tools - which is the audience out there - to make them turn on her & listen to what hes saying. Thats the only true tool artist have, the direct connect with the audience.

I mean like he said he was 18. I guess he just signed what they put in front of him. He seemingly signed a management deal that included rights to publishing. I can see where that makes sense if the only reason you're getting placements is because of your management.

With the taking it personal, I don't think it's so much about taking it personal as business. I'm not buying beats from you unless I get a piece of your royalties too because it's a glut market of dudes who want to sell me beats. (That's me speculating the mind-state)

The buzz thing I feel you but we can agree to disagree. In my mind buzz only puts you on they radar. Once you on they radar okay you choose which fukk deal you going to take. Unless you build up some kind of super buzz but again people always use the exceptions as the rule with that. The average dude running his city will quickly fall by the wayside to the #2 dude in said city if #2 dude gets a Deb behind him.

The thing is if you look at it he said that in December 14. "Yeah I did this without YOU (Deb)" Now its December 15 and he saying Deb holding checks from August. YEAH cause in DEC 14 you was saying you was doing it without me okay so I'ma go to Bank of America and do it without you lol. He wouldn't have said nothing slick in December 14 unless they been beefing for a year.
