i dunno man...in a freestyle battle Kurupt was the type to just wear a dude down. Ras Kass would be the early KO guy, but Kurupt would be the fighter with the iron chin & enough stamina for an old school 15-round bout.

Honestly... eh.

I always thought Ras was lyrically nice. But that's where it stopped.

Never thought he was one of the best or anything like that. Didn't care for his albums in full. He made lots of good songs, but I could take those and leave the rest.

I guess I could put him in the same category as others like Canibus, Lord Finesse, Chino XL, Del, etc... dudes whose talent on the mic I could never deny. But never really made anything "must-have", IMO.

Ras Kass, for me, is a great. The way his rhymes meshed social commentary, humour, punchlines and street orientated themes was and is superb.
