Will Europe even allow separation to happen. They seem to be obsessed with stopping African immigration at the moment and they might not like separation movements since it might cause more to spring up on the continent and cause "destabilization".

Besides the huge issue of corruption is there any singular thing that could push Nigeria together and forward (like a change in political processes, diaspora returning, investment in a certain industry, reorganization of states, etc.)?

:mjcry:i want Nigeria to succeed mayne
Would the Hausas becoming their own country or being absorbed to some nation do anything?

:mjcry:also shout out my Igbo people

If Nigeria splits I can imagine Bornu and other places falling under Boko Haram or other jihadists.:mjcry: Yeah, that's just what the region needs. On the real, they should invest in Kano heavy and put tariffs on clothes to get that place popping again. Without Kano doing well I don't see hope for up North.

You guys think their is any possibility of the EAF in the next 10-20 years. It probably the best for investment & development in the swahilisphere. They would also have much more geopolitical & economic power as one.

Perhaps you can make a Geo-Politics of East Africa thread? I've been meaning to make one but school is tying me down. So much dynamics at play with the Somalia war, pipelines from Uganda, Chinese investment in Kenya and Tanzania (rivalry?), Rwanda's autocratic development, turmoil in South Sudan etc.
