What is the interest of the West to keep Nigeria united? And if Nigeria does break up it will be a disaster for the region. Arms and Militant groups will spread bedlam in West Africa. Also Nigeria's military is severely incompetent. Smh corruption and foreign interference is endemic in black countries. :mjcry:

- Access to oil in the Niger Delta
- Preventing Northern Nigeria from being a "safe haven" for Islamist terrorists
- Preventing more refugees from flooding into Europe
- Regional stability in West Africa

@MansaMusa

I'm far too lazy to read that big thread on Biafra in the TLR, in short, what are your views? Are you Pro Biafra or Pro Union?
Had a similar convo with my father the other night, who is Pro Biafra himself

In so far as Nigerian elites,by and large, don't want restructuring, I support Biafra.

How about you?

Every Igbo household is discussing this. There's been a few fights in my extended family too. Usually Lagos Igbos v. The rest of us.

It's complex, because typically I'd prefer that a nation like Nigeria could stick together and hopefully become a true African power, but it's hard to support them now because the leadership, even by our standards, has been historically bad. Right now I'm leaning towards going our separate ways unless there are some changes.

My father is a "Lagos Igbo", interestingly enough.

By the way @Don Drogo

Go through the Biafra thread in the Locker Room if you have time to kill. There are Buhari supporters on the Coli!
