Political Prisoner of Muhammadu Buhari speaks out
that's a lotta states
Nigeria's future is bright. It's a matter of time. Honestly we just need everybody that is 50 and up to die first and leave this to the millenials. A new generation of foreign educated patriots will take over and right the ship decades from now. There is too much tribal/religious partisanship going on right now. They have to rotate the damn presidency from North to south to North every election cycle just to keep the peace. What kind of system is that.....the last president actually peacefully and democratically stepped down for the present one though, that has not been done before, its a huge step forward, buhari the current leader is much better than the last one too. At the very least there is now an actual plan to rid the country of boko haraam for good. If the next leader is better than buhari then we just might get to looking like the giant of africa we supposed to be.
this new generation does not have the stomach for war but i agree the corruption element is with them as well, but I feel like it would be a better form of corruption. This new generation would take 100 million naira build a road costing 70 million naira and pocket 30 million naira. As opposed to the current generation in power who would pocket the entire 100 million naira and never even visit site. We would be able to establish some principles at least. I agree past leaders didn't plan for the future. That's how we ended up in this mess. We had since 1980 to diversify from oil and didn't. Now we're in a deep recession. In all likelihood, if the elder leaders of the country were killed - we would be plunged into another civil war. Like what happened in 1966.
Many young Nigerians that I've encountered also want to chop and go. Despite their access to Western education and standards of living. I don't think Nigeria has a great future. The current leaders are not planning for the future to come...

Soooo is Nigeria an inorganic creation of a failed nation state plagued by a mob government because of western capitalist influence?
The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, has said Zamfara State which started the implementation of Sharia law in Nigeria currently has the highest poverty rate in the country. Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano Speaking at the Mo Ibrahim Forum in Marrakesh, Morocco, weekend, Sanusi said many of those who seized religion as tool of getting power were not necessarily better than the rest of the people. ADVERTISING According to him, such people should, however, be given a chance to participate in a democracy, so that they don’t go on pushing a myth that they were not given a chance. “Give them four years, after sometime people find out that they have not improved education, they have not put food on the table, they’ve not provided healthcare, they vote them out. “So long as you don’t give them a chance to try and succeed or fail, you have a myth of people being denied an alternative that would make their lives better. “I think the mistake that many people make is that they simply don’t have the patience to wait four years. We have had it in Nigeria; people came and said they were implementing Sharia. Zamfara State started Sharia in Nigeria; it has the highest rate of poverty in the country today. “It’s a matter of time for people to realise that this is all deception, this is all politics, this is not religion; it is about politicians appropriating religion as a discourse for getting into power.” Zamfara state implemented Sharia in 1999.
