Not even Rocky kept the belt off TV this long.

The new belt is trash. The big gold shyts all over it, but Vince would be damned if a NWA/WCW belt is the main title.

The new belt looks cartoonish as fukk. It was kind of goofy as the spinner belt (which I abhorred), but that belt still had a lot of gold on it.
When Rock changed it, there was less gold BUT the scratch logo still gave it a bit of edge. The new logo is goofy as shyt. We're in the PG-era, but that's probably the first belt to have a logo that looks childish.
Look at it. All goofy & undistinguished. It's basic as fukk. Looks like a toy (because they want it to be a toy for the kids). The big gold belt has all that with the subtle jewels detail that makes it look like a little golden hall of fame that you can strap to your waist. It looks like a memorial with a story of champions on it.
Look at how regal those things look. You could have that as a background piece for a king or a mob boss in a movie and not think anything of it because of how official they look.
funny thing, i was in walmart last year and i bought the bgb toy belt over the main belt
even as a toy that bgb still better

The big gold belt is classic when you think about how many eras it spanned (NWA, WCW, WWF/E) and It goes to show that how many times Vince tries to bury Dubya Cee Dubya it has value in the memories of pop culture and sport from dudes growing up seeing it on TV. So I can see why more athletes rock the replica version of that.

As a kid I was getting my mum to buy me all of those toy belts. Hell I even had the Hardcore toy belt 
Toys are gonna sell regardless. I had loads of figures too and they weren't all Rock/Austin I had a Bob Holly - Kids will buy them whatever.
