If you can't see every decade softening up I dont know what to tell you. My mother tells me stories that when I hear them, all I can think is "I wish a nikka would", during her days it was "O lawd I hope them white folks dont come around", and 20 years from now....I can only imagine LOL.
I lived in the hood and in the burbs, left the hood my freshman year of H.S. The only thing I noticed was they expected me to be smash on the football field, and I did. I went to the same school, same grade as Gilbert Arenas. I can assure you, we didn't get no shyt at our school. them cacs wasn't about that life LOL. I seriously wanna know what kinda hatred you got, I seriously didn't get much, I may have seen some shyt here and there, but for the most part, I went thru highschool no problems, art school no problems, corporation I had some 'hmmmm' moments, but I still climbed the ladder faster than even some cacs that had been there 5-10 yrs prior to me, so altho I might have sensed some discrimination or feelings from an indiv, at the end of the day, the actions of my bosses promotions and the responsibilities they gave me spoke louder than those other folks that were just hating. I did some one lady, who oddly enough was my boss for a year (older lady, former black panther actually, real tall, serious face, she looked militant but was a sweetheart) she did get prevented from climbing the ladder, but she had a bit of a chip on her shoulder, and she got black listed for suing the company back into her job LOL. You can't sue a fortune 500 and think they gonna just let you run the show once you get back in. She did get discriminated against tho. I saw it with my own eyes, but then, me and 3 of my friends (black males) climbed the ladder super quick. We all strategically had a plan and executed it beautifully, even down to how we'd dress and conduct ourselves.
you missed the point, read it again.
so what you're saying is your life has been a struggle?
