Serious Michael Cole + JBL on commentary was last night


made shytty matches reasonable...made Cena/Punk even Better. Imagine current-state Cole/King doing that match JBL was PERFECT for this match. Theres's a reason why we miss attitiude ERA announcing..because it had passion, JBL brought it lastnight and he needs to stick on RAW

I've always said Cole was fine aside from the character they made him play the past few years, and brings it when he wants to (eg. Brocks return on raw)

PG robotic commentary is out brehs..WWE needed something to happen to shake up the bullshyt half assed commentary. Jerry..I hope you take a long time recovering. I can finally listen to raw matches again


Id also love to see a whole new team on Smackdown..get that Stanford dude out there as Play by Play and get a new color guy.

- JBL got mixed reviews backstage for his commentary work at the night of champions PPV. The overall feeling was that he did a good job, but was rusty and made some mistakes early in the show.

JBL was backstage, going over notes before the show, making the extra effort to be as up to speed as possible with the current talent and angles in the company.

king is the biggest fakkit mark announcer ever, a lot of times hardly knows the product.

now that hes better, the wrath is back on lol.

It was solid for several reasons
it was a reminder at how solid the jbl character is and how talented jbl is
it also showed that when michael cole is an unbiased play by play semi face commentator he is more entertaining then a heel play by play guy.

JBL messed up several times but he never over shadowed a match with stuff that wasn't relative to what was happening in the ring. We can name many times where king/cole would argue to the point where the match would get thrown by the way side just so we can hear them argue for no reason. JBL and Cole sent shots back and forth but neither ever REALLY made the match on the screen seem like a secondary act, which is the point i'd think of a commentary team. to keep the audience invested/interested in the product they are watching and to help further along storylines/characters.


it was solid, hopefully jbl can clean up a bit on his references. He said sin Cara wrestled in AAA when he never did and was exclusive to CMLL, he said cesaro was in a rugby league but got the name wrong, etc. But the effort imo was AMAZING. It was like matt striker's references but they didn't sound forced. I hope he gets a few more weeks to try commentary out again if not him maybe give William Regal a chance

The best part of JBL's commentary was him shytting on Cole on the sly and some of the wrestlers, wish he went ham on Miz
