It's getting to the point where we almost are gonna have to tag damn near everyone who was a big name between the mid 70's thru the 80's as a total racist until proven otherwise with time stamped documentation geez. :snoop:

I feel how I feel about Ric's WRESTLING CHARACTER, it's hard to totally throw away something so intrigal to MY childhood so cats can kick rocks with all that caping shyt before u even start it.

shyt doesn't feel good being that I've met the man numerous times both when I was doing working in the night club scene and just out and about thinking I was pro'ally just "another ni$$a" in his view.

The more you hear about that Crockett era and how cats were allowed to conduct themselves is straight disturbing. Ugh man

This reminds me of a conversation I had with my mom back when the Donald Sterling thing happened. She was shocked that people were surprised about he viewed and spoke about black people considering his age. From her viewpoint most old white people have that mentality, because they grew up in a time when it was woven into the culture that they were better than people with darker skin.

I don't think Flair really "hates" black people, but he probably doesn't see any black person as being equal to him. Hence him being so comfortable walking up to Teddy and calling him a n######. The same goes for most of those old school guys.

None of this his hard to believe. Racists are taught and develop this sick way of thinking everyday. Flair was born in 1949. Probably grew up believing that he was better than black people. I'm echoing my sentiment from the other "racism in wrestling" post, but I believe every main event wrestler (white) from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and even the 00s spit out racial slurs like chewing tobacco. That's why it's hard to be a black wrestling fan. Can't call dude Stone Cold GOAT and then find out he was writing "******" on windshields.

Those are the scariest racists to me. The ones who spent their formative years with it being normal to feel superior to black folks, their ideals and mind states never seemed fukked up to them and now it's too late to change their minds. .. so instead they father'd these modern day blatant unapologetic racist lunatics you now see hiding behind police badges, social media and comment sections on the Internet etc

1. I feel you. As a kid, when you're watching wrestling, you're not thinking about colors. I didn't watch JYD or Koko B Ware b/c they were black. Nor did I view Hulk Hogan, Flair Sting etc as white guys. They were just people/characters.

2. Kinda sucks as you get older and you just naturally become more cognizant of stuff like race.....and then of course the internet & it's information is the gift/curse of things in general. You find out sh*t you didn't want to know.

3. For years, I've spent alot of money/time supporting wrestling. So there's that issue too.

4. I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt tho that maybe as they're grown older, traveled the world & met more ppl, and life has humbled them that maybe they've changed their views as a person. Even if that's only for my own peace of mind.

You're right, it doesn't feel good tho.

Not surprised. Some of the things I've heard about wrestling back in the day before WWE got where it is today. If ya'll think that it's racist nowadays, there's stuff they got away with back then ON camera, not just backstage.

The industry as a whole is racist and probably one of the reasons it'll never be taken seriously in the mainstream area of entertainment and be just a niche market where only White Men are guaranteed to make it to the top because it's predetermined.

Everytime I watch a Scott Steiner interview and he goes in for Flair, I loose a tad more respect for Ric but this shyt right here...this shyt right here :wtb:

:ohlawd: I know Scott Steiner is a crazy motherfukker, but I could tell he wasn't lying about Ric Flair when he did that shoot in WCW.
Scott Steiner actually seems like one of the few guys who would've fukked with the brothers back in those days. :myman:
