Who has better rifle work, marines or the army.
I'm not sure I understand the question. I think the marines are heavier on the marksman side of things, but again that gets into the different roles

The people in the army who are involved in actual fighting, why wouldnt their training be at a marines level? They suffer the most casualties in war as it is. Maybe they need better training.

why aren't linemen trained to throw a ball like a quarterback?
This isnt a game, its real life. If being a better rifleman would mean less casualties, why not train them better. A lineman doesnt need to throw a ball, hes defending a line. But guess how much better he could defend the QB if he had a butcher knife in his hand.
I'm not sure what this assumption is that the army receives some sort of inferior rifle training
you're right that it's not a game, despite the competitive nature of this thread. all the armed forces receive the training they need for their different roles. it's like asking why everyone doesn't receive the same training as special forces
Army instructors from what im reading are more like your father.
so they're not around
Marines are in the toughest AOs because they are the most expendable....hell, they pride themselves in it
Nah, the marines get the scraps from the navy's table. They broke...shytiest gear, vehicles, equipment, etc. like I said, they're the pawns...expendable. Gov't send them to the suicide missions...hence the name jarhead. The only thing that's really better about them is their recruiting commercials.

The biggest difference is that the Army drill instructor teaches you how to march....
The Marine Drill instructor is a demon from he11 who is after your body, mind, soul and butt who will make 12 weeks of your life a living he11. He will hound you from *1* 5:00AM until midnight and after. He will humiliate, ignore, yell, curse and call you a mammas boy. He will remind you daily that YOU signed up for this so YOU are required to finish the job. He will remind you that everything you are or own belongs to him and you have no body parts you can call your own. Your thoughts are his too, because he can READ YOUR MIND. He know this because he will ask you if you are thinking of something and you will reply YES SIR....because you NEVER will be able to tell him NO. He will remind you daily that you are lower than dirt and worthless as a blown tire. He will also tell you that you will not escape him...you will become a Marine or you will die in his presence. - From yahoo.
Army instructors *2* from what im reading are more like your father. Im already seeing a stark difference in what these methods will produce.
my hitch was 97-01, (US Army), is this some new shyt?
i directly recall life beginning EVERY morning at 3am, regardless of fireguard duty that night
that was Basic; AIT we still went extra hard, cause a Marine detachment was stationed @ Ft Lee, and we wasnt gonna let them suckas outrun us.
5am? not even on weekends
