1. "The Prediction"
2. "Life We Chose"
4. "Some of Us Have Angels"
5. "Project Windows" (featuring Ronald Isley)
6. "Come Get Me"
7. "Shoot 'Em Up"
8. "Last Words" (featuring Nashawn)
9. "Family" (featuring Mobb Deep)
10. "God Love Us"
13. "New World"

Album is far from being wack. People ran with "one hot album every ten years average" when in reality. Nas cataloge shyt on Jays before BP drop. Jay had a lot of average albums in between RD and BP.

This is true. Going by dude's logic, I Am would be looked at as trash as well, which most wouldn't agree with.
The only album that was mentioned by name is Illmatic.

"2 of them shyts is doo, 1 was :ld:, the other was Illmatic"

The problem is that the general consensus was just that (atleast at the time) IWW was :ld: and I AM & Nastradamus was doo. Only after Takeover did people go back and say IWW was a dope record...it was underrated bc they expected Illmatic 2, because he's one of the GOAT's people hold his work to a higher standard, but it works both ways bc they also rate his :trash: as better than it is...case in point this thread :yeshrug:

nastradramus was garbage.

the thing that made it a really bad record was nas was lyrically dumbed it down where he made bad songs sound even worse with his rhymes. the biggest example of this was the song nastradramus. you can sense the lyrical denom that nas has in him with the first four bars and then you can hear it literally dumbing it down in the rest of the song. like wtf? how do you go in like that and then suddenly stop? everybody even people that didn't listen to hip hop knew that he could do better. that's why people at the time were saying nas lost his edge. people thought nas lost his lyrical skills. nas may have other bad albums BUT they weren't bad lyrically which people forgave him for. nas was always lyrically on point.

Lol this thread is a lie.

Life We Chose has a weak ass beat
Some of us have angels is just lazy and bland
Come get me is just a generic premo beat and the song isnt about anything
Family has one of the weakest keyboard beats I heard in my life, so so cheap, those horns are terrible
Quiet nikkas = throw away track
New World = fukk that heal the world ass shyt, it was super cheesy

Stop trying to rewrite history, this album was garbage. why do u think take over hit so hard? he was done.

This album had no direction, it was uninspired. and dame grease laced him with some throwaway Casio joints.

Nas is the greatest. but stop it.

are people really in here acting like the nastradamus hate is a product of "takeover"?

in reality, nastradamus was chitted on IMMEDIATELY upon its release, which was nearly 2 years before "takeover" came out. hell, jay wouldnt have even made "takeover" if it wasnt for nastradamus. the only reason jay went head up with nas is because he thought nas was done.

i do agree that nastradamus would be better received if it dropped today, but thats moreso a sign of the times and how weak hip-hop is nowadays. standards were much higher back then. people hyped up "life is good" as some sort of great album but it wouldve got the :scusthov: if it dropped in the '90s as well.

i always felt like people were too harsh on nastradamus, but what do you expect from an all-time top 5-10 rapper who dropped an album that prolly wasnt even top 40 for that year? and theres more than 4 weak joints on there.

Listen, even as a huge NaS fan I have to be honest. "NaStradamus" was and still is a weak LP. It is what it is. Sure there are songs I still love from that album. But what hurt the album was the production was not good. A lot of the beats were off. Also NaS Hook game on that album was TERRIBLE. I never heard an album with so many bad singing hooks, a lot of the hooks mess up the songs. The point is there are still heat on the album but even by NaS standards it just wasn't good. It's a 3 MIC LP at best. 3.5 If you are being generious but it wasn't good. Now NaS worst LP is still better than a lot of other emcees in the game LP's but that's not saying much. The only reason I gave NaS a pass from "NaStradamus" was the fact he dropped "I am" that same year and went through the mp3 internet bootleg fiasco. "NaStradamus" was clearly rushed. But this video says it all. It's one of the worst videos in rap history and in NaS career:

Best song on the album:

Takeover never even mentioned Nastradamus tho...lol

I guess they just had to shuffle through Nas catalogue to figure out what LP Jay was talking about and all decided it was Nastradomus due to that wack ass single, Nasty Nas to esco to escbobar now he is Nastradomus :scusthov:

Nas's weakest LP would be another artist's masterpiece tho

The funny thing is that he said TWO of those 4 albums were garbage and one was average. I'm guessing the "doo" albums were Nastradamus and I Am, and the "ehh" was It Was Written...which is a bold faced lie.
