Btw, if y'all haven't played peace walker, get the HD collection cuz that shyt is a classic as well.
The only game I really had a problem with was MGS4. Everything else was solid/great...even MGS2

for me, kojima comes down to impeccable overall game design. the level design, the music, the iconography, the presentation, and the memorable gags. i cant tell you shyt about the story and ive played every one
same here!
Kojima tries so hard to be some sort of gaming genius or guru, but IMO he's an overrated video game director that gets more credit than he should
Let's start with MGS2. Any gamer will tell you that he fukked up bad with MGS2 - the plot was confusing as fukk and let's be honest most of us were like 15 - 16 while playing that game and had to no idea wtf was going on. Then he did that stupid twist where Raiden takes over. He fooled everyone in the gaming industry showing only Solid side of things, and kept the Raiden thing under wraps till you played it.
Then he creates the masterpiece that was MGS3. Obviously he learned from the criticism that MGS2 got and figured out that people actually wanna play a video game and not have to refer back to previous games and online posts to figure out what the fukk was going on. He left the cutscene in the bushes. The longest were like 5 minutes long, but they were some james bond type of shyt.
Then comes out the disappointing MGS4, where Kojima again tries to mind fukk us with his story bullshyt. Most of the time is spent WATCHING cutscenes than PLAYING. Anything he did good with MGS3, he went in reverse with MGS4. Just because he can and wants to be known as some crazy weird game director.
I have only been able to play MGS4 once, and can't get back in it. It's such a poorly designed game with no sense of purpose. The only reason it got good reviews was cause of the history of the series, and it was for PS3 so it couldn't fail and because noone wanted to say at the time that Kojima fukked up. It was only after so many years where people actually started to criticize the game and how horrible it really was.
Now comes MGS5. Again, Kojima is trying way too hard. It has been confirmed that MGS5 and Phantom Pain are two separate games.

He has lost so much credibility with his bi-polar decisions. How many times he said he will never direct MGS again? And here we are, another MGS game. Truth be told, Kojima hasn't done shyt besides the Metal Gear series. This is his only option where he is still employed. No one else wants anything from Kojima. Cause he tries to turn everything into some crazy plot with twists and turns and conspiracies that no one gives a fukk about. He's the M.Night.Shamalan of the gaming industry.
