He's a heel announcer. The only anomaly is Elias, but that's because he and Cole have worked out a deal on commentary in regards to that because Cole is trying to do his over-the-top stan gimmick again like he had with Miz.

I do like that he's constantly shytting on Sasha, that is a good comparison -- Heenan/Hogan. It does feel old school. And whenever Sasha does a full-blown heel turn, he'll probably be like "told you guys" just like Bobby did. And Coach is terrible, it's repeated ad nauseam every week in the Raw thread by TSC. Corey agrees, but actually gets to clown him to his face for it.

Corey is amazing on commentary to me. He's so much more intelligent and quick-witted than anyone else there. He's the best thing on commentary in over a decade. Dude cracks me up. He's dropping a lot of gems that I think the other announcers don't catch. I think he could transition to the lead guy, but he's so entertaining providing color commentary, I don't want him to. Being a wrestler wasn't his true calling, being a commentator is.

I don't watch 205 Live, but I came off impressed by the commentary during the Mustafa Ali/Cedric Alexander match. I don't remember the PBP guy's name though. I think Nigel should be commentating one of the shows, either RAW or Smackdown.

– As previously reported, WWE announcer Corey Graves posted a message on his Instagram account that appeared to be referencing WWE’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia for the Greatest Royal Rumble event. A new report The Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingInc.com) indicates that Graves might have some heat within the WWE over those comments.

Graves wrote in the message, “A drink to remember that no [matter] how bad WE think we have it, at least our women have rights and we all have freedom of expression. #ifyougetityougetit” You can see the full Instagram post below.

Per the Observer Newsletter report on Graves’ comments, saying there are people backstage in WWE who, while they understand his statements, believe they should’ve been made in private. The report also indicates that people backstage in WWE are saying that Graves is “more replaceable than he thinks he is.”
