Pac got these biggie stans in they feelins all aggy and feelin surrounded forced to lash out.....and this is off of ONE diss track released; Hit Em Up :lawd::ohlawd: I guess nikkaz know who the GOAT is... has there ever been one track so powerful that it literally killed its target, got a whole coast mad, gave another nikka sickle cell, made a whole label of wack ass rappers flop, made his enemy's best friend remake his songs... I could go on maynes, but Hit Em Up is soooo monumental I think we all need to sit back and reflect :whew: I mean we got biggie nikkaz in here swearing up and down that Pac was on a years long crusade releasing dozens of songs shyttin on the nikka.... when there was only one song :wow:

my dude, Pac was probably alive when they recorded the song, LAD was recorded from 95-97. He cleary says, "I'm in the 1500 dollar seats, watching Ty-son". then paints the picture of you, the listener, being at home at your little fight party screaming to everyone in the house, "the fight's on!". It's straight and to the point, there is no double meaning at all. Referencing a Tyson fight has nothing to do with Pac. If he referenced someone getting killed, then yeah, I would say maybe that is subliminal, but all he is saying is he's balling at the fight in the front row and you're broke at home. the name of the song is I Love The Dough for crying out loud, the theme of the song is ballin and getting money which is what that line sums up to in the context of the song.

This. nikkas are borderline stupid for tryin' to make it anything more than that. Reaching with go-go-gadget arms.

And another myth that needs to die is this "RTD was Big usin' Pac's style". nikkas only say this cause Pac said it. Before that, I don't know A person that ever listened to RTD and thought about 2Pac. Totally different shyt. If you listen to RTD and think it sounds anything like anything Pac was making at the time, your ears are on some other shyt.

lol aiight....no offense but I don't really know why you stan Pac so hard though. You seem smarter than that in HL.

Because friend, I was a Stan when he was alive

Its a different dynamic than hopping on the bandwagon after he died, buying into the post death historical revisionism, etc

When u were there for the ride, it was a different story. I remember the day he went to jail, the day he was shot, the day he died

What makes it different is a-the music means so much more because u were there to experience it

And b- you understand why he was who he was better. Getting into PAC after he died, despite the best intentions, you'll never understand the dude. You'll inevitably look at him and his music from a hindsight after the fact perspective which is a skewed perspective in my opinion

I'm the last person one would assume to be some PAC Stan. No makaveli shirts or cacery here. In fact I boycotted every post makaveli album release for a decade

Biggie was tryin to use Pac style... hence the "Pac style taker" but he couldnt do it like Pac... but who can?
"my whole album was about dealin with death and RTD came out and it sounded like my album so I had to switch it" - GOAT
nikkaz can post the interview from Biggie talkin about how he loved Pac's new album Out On Bail (became RUSD) obviously he heard the shyt and liked it enough to bite the concept. :snoop: then add in the shyt for the bytches like Pac taught him and you have RTD.

Bullshyt.

So a nikka gives you advice, you use the advice, now you stole his whole concept. GTFOH.

And if you ever heard RTD, what percentage of that album centers around death? One song, maybe two? Take those out and you still got Things Done Changed, Gimme the Loot, Machine Gun Funk, Warning, One More Chance, the What, Juicy, Respect, Big Poppa, Friend of Mine, Unbelievable... gimme a break with this "Big stole Pac's style" shyt.

Listen to RUSD and listen to RTD if you dont hear Pacs dna in that shyt you are a lonely stanley. Big even transitioned from the bullshyt 94 flow to the modern 95 flow on Pacs command.

I look at pac differently. I see him as probably the most charismatic rapper ever which explains his popularity. As a person though, he was a charlatan, a buffoon, and hypocrite who made his own death bed. As a rapper he was never a big deal to me. He was a better actor than he was a rapper, which says a lot.

All the people I've come across who idolize tupac have been whites, suburban hip hop fans, or foreigners.

The same way Biggie was going to be on "Thug Life" and possibly "Me against the World", Pac also may have been on "Ready To Die" as they were working together around 93-94 time when Big was recording the album. It was in the recording session for this song "House of Pain" but it was cut from the album and remained underground. The song was 1st remixed for the "Born Again" album featuring Joe Hooker but that version ended up not being on the album. It was remixed again for Biggie's "Duets" album and featured Mary J and NaS and was produced by Just Blaze. But this is the original version. It was Biggie featuring Tupac and Stretch over a westcoast sounding beat. I believe Easy Mo Bee might of produced it but I'm not sure:

3 Words: Long. Kiss. Goodnight. 4 Words:........Kiss Your A$$ Goodnight....here's my full breakdown of the history of the song and the Lyrics (LONG READ BUT INFORMATIVE)

OK, Let me clear this up for you guys. There were 3 Versions of "Long Kiss Goodnight". Yes the title was taking from the film "Long Kiss Goodnight" staring Genna Davis and Samuel L Jackson. During the recording the song was actually called "Kiss your A$$ Goodnight" and changed cause Biggie loved the movie so much. The song is a Pac, Suge and Death Row subliminal diss.

215px-Long_kiss_goodnight_ver1.jpg

Version 1: Reply to Hit Em up - This is the infamous version rumored to have been destroyed by Puffy after he heard it. Lil Cease confirms this was an all out Pac Diss, names called. This version was scrapped after Tupac passed. Puffy denies this version even though he knew it was a Pac diss and kept most sublminals in the song.

Version 2: This is the Raw Version with RZA and Capadonna talking sh!t in the background with Biggie. It's a strip down version that doesn't have Puffy in it. This was recorded after Pac's death and the song then turned to a subliminal. At the end of the record Biggie says:

"I Tried to be on some humble sh!t but now it's time to toot my horn, toot, toot, motherf*ucker I'm the nicest n!gga in the game it's time to face motherf*ckin facts. On the Lyrics side, See me, Wordplay, See Me, Fist Fights, See me N!gga. The only reason I ain't naming no names, cause I don't want to give you B!tcha$$ n!ggas a chance to make a record and sell some units, F@ggots!"

Capadonna: "Long Kiss B!tch, Long Kiss B!tch"
Rza: "Sweet as a Kiss god dammit"

Version 3: This is the LP version that everyone heard. Puff replaces RZA and Capadonna and talk sh!t on the record instead of them. But the song is still a subliminal.

Also the song itself didn't come out until Biggie passed. He did perform a verse during one of his last freestyle over the "Hell on Earth" beat but at the time nobody knew what it was from. Also Biggie recorded LAD from 95-early 97 so that was during the entire Pac Beef. Why would Biggie respond to "Hit em Up" quick? You dudes acting like Biggie should drop a Diss to Pac on a mixtape. Pac did a video and released "Hit em up" on a single so he made dough off it. Biggie was going to do the same, his response was going to be on "LAD" which was originally suppose to come out Holloween 96 but was pushed back due to his car accident. As someone mentioned, NaS took 4 months to repond to "Ether", not cause he was scared but cause he wanted it on an album. LOL @ you dudes thinking Biggie wasn't going cake off his diss. He wasn't scared of Pac, he was more annoyed that Pac choose to target him knowing damn well he knew who was involved his his shooting.

Biggie and Puff weren't saints and they made mistakes in the beef (Like reworking "Who shot Ya" and releasing it while Pac was in jail was wrong even though the song was recorded before Pac was shot) but Pac overracted going after them. He should of went after Henchmen from the beginning. To Pac's credit he finally did say something on what was at 1st going to be a mixtape "Makaveli" about it but that was after the fact. Biggie as well as Stretch tried to warn Pac about the people he was rolling with but he choose not to listen. So when Pac said, "Biggie could of warn me I was about to get my head blown off" he was trying to imply Big knew when he was going to get shot when that's not the case. What Big did know is the cats Pac was rolling with had ties to Jimmy and that Pac shouldn't mess with them. So as for "Oh he waited till Pac died to say something". This is false, Biggie was hitting Pac with several subliminals at the time. But most rap fans couldn't read between the lines. Biggie only mentioned Pac's name on record 2 times:

"Gotta go Coolio, meaning it's getting too hot, if Faye had twins they probably be two Pac's, get it 2 Pac" (Brooklyn's Finest) - This line some say Big was dissing himself but he was more letting Pac know his talk about his Faith didn't affect him.

"Flip it, Stick it, Rub it down, do me baby I ain't down, My name ain't 2 Pac I don't Get Around, You Hitting us N!gga how that sound (Can I get wit ya) - This wasn't a diss as much as a reference but there was a subliminal in there as he makes a slick reference to "Hit em up".

So for dudes crying about "Long Kiss", Pac dissed Biggie countless times, mentioned his name in several interviews. Disrespected his Wife, Boss and Label and Big wasn't allowed to say Anything? Pac was lucky Biggie respected him enough to only subliminally get him. "LAD" was being recorded all through the beef but out of respect for Pac's death Big kept it subliminal. So the answer to the thread is BOTH. The original concept and version of the song was recorded before Pac's death but changed after he died to make the song a "Beef/Subliminal" track with no names but if you read between the lines it was clearly about Pac.

Biggies-Verse-Bigger.jpg

Here's is my personal breakdown of the song:

"Long Kiss Goodnight" (Taking from the film of the same name, but the meaning is saying Biggie is Kissing the Beef with Pac Goodnight. It's basically a figure of speech in the Mobb.)

[CHORUS]
TIME, TIME FOR YOU To DIE
AS I KISS--YOur--ASS--GOODNIGHT

I make your mouthpiece obese like Della Reese (Della Reese is a Legendary Black Actress who is overweight)
When I release, you loose teeth like Little Cease (Lil' Cease lost his front teeth in the car accident he caused with Biggie and Carlibaltimore
nikka please
Blood floods your dungarees
(Pac was famous for wearing Dungarees jeans)
And that's just a half of my warpath
Laugh now cry later, I rhyme greater
(Pac has a tatoo of a Laughing face and a crying face)
than the average player hater, and spectators
Buy my CD twice
They see me in the streets they be like you he nice
But that's on the low doe'
(Biggie is talking about how he can make a Double CD just a good as Pac and that it would sell more [and it did] He was also saying that people on the West liked him on the low)
be the cats with no dough, tried to play me at my show
I pull out 4-4's, and go up in they clothes
(This is more a diss to the underground rappers going at Big at the time)
Short-change nikkas
snort-cane nikkas
extortion came quicker
Bought the Range' nikka
You still tickle me
I used to be as strong as ripple, till Little Cease crippled me (Car Accident Reference again)
Now I play hard-like my girls nipples be
The games sour like like a pickle be
You all know the rules
Move from BK to New Jerus
Thinking 'bout, all the planes we flew
bytches, we ran through
Now the years new
I lay my game flat
I want my spot back, take two
(Here he's saying that 97 is his year after 96 was Pac's. By saying "Take Two" it's a double meaning. He's telling Pac to take 2nd Place but it's also a movie referece cause a director does "Takes" during a scene. Pac was an actor so it was like Big telling him to have another take or "Try again")
Motherfukkers mad 'cause I blew, nikkas envious
Too many nikkas on my dikk, shyt's strenuous
When my men bust, you just move wit such stamina
Slugs missed you
I ain't mad at you (we ain't mad at you)
(Biggie felt that Pac was actually jealous of his success and mad that he blew up very quickly. "We Ain't Mad A You" is a clear Pac reference to his Classic song of the same title. "Slugs Miss Ya" can be interpeted as Big eluding to the Quad Studio Shooting)
Blood rushing, concussions, ain't nothing
Catch cases, come out fronting
Smoking something
(Pac had a lot of cases at the time, and that was the time he changed on Biggie was during all his cases.)
Sipping White Russians, bytch in the Benz bumping
I laced it wit the basic
6 TV's, a system, knocking Mase shyt, face it
We hard to hit
Guard your shyt, for I stick you, for your re-up
Wipe the "Pee" up

Mix shots, "woke your seed up" ("Wipe the pee up"and "Woke ya seed up" is eluding to the Quad Studio Shooting and rumors Pac shot his balls)
Go in the ashtray, spark the weed up
LONG KISS

[CHORUS X 2]

UH-I flaming gats, aiming at, these fukking...
Maniacs put my name in raps what part the
(Pac played a crazy chacater in "Juice" thus Big calling him a "Maniac" or crazy. Also Pac mentioned Big in many of his rhymes and songs.)
Games is dat like they hustle backwards (Big is saying Pac is hustling backwards by mentioning him in his raps cause Pac was the Bigger artist so Big is saying, "Why are you mentioning me when you are suspose to be the Don? that's hustling backwards")
I smoke backwards, and Duchees
Ya can't touch me
Try to rush me
Slugs go, touchy-touchy
You're bleeding lovely, with you, spirit above me
or beneath me, your whole life you live sneaky
Now you rest eternally, sleepy, you burn when you creep me
Rest where the worms-n-the weak be
My nine flies, baptize, rap guys
With the holy ghost
I put holes in most, you hold your toast shakey
Slip-n-trying to break me
Look what you made me do, brains blue
My team in the Marine blew, six-coupe
Skiid it out, weeded out, clean it out
The block for distance is, given long kisses bytch
(Sadly yes this whole rhyme refers to Pac's actual death, Big took the gloves off with those bars as he describes Pac's death from life to spirituality, kinda creepy)

[CHORUS X 2]

Frank White the menacing, craw-craw's demenacin
I got the lettuce in
You turn green like cucumber skin got the new hummer in the summer when I was a new comer
then drugs and mac-10's
Hug from fake friends
Make ends they hate you, be broke girls won't date you
(Once again Big refers to Pac as being a hater of his success. He also responds to "Hit Em Up's" famous "I begged bytches to fukk you" line as Big answers that his doe was low, of course he wasn't getting hoes like Pac.)
That's why I relate to, choke your ass 'til your face blue, make you
Open the safe too
No matter how you call it (how you call it)
This "bralick", alcoholic
Like his weed green'd out like his brick solid
Distribute to kids who, take heart like Valentine, drink Valentine, all the time
Slugs hit you chest tap the spine
Flat-line
Heard through the grapevine, you got fukked foe times
Damn that three to nine, fukked you up for real doe'
"Slink steal slow"
As you remorse we feel no
(Again Big is refering to Pac's stay at Rikers and the rumors that he was in fact raped during his stay their. He's also eluding agian to his actual death)

Again he never said Pac's name so in the end it could all just be lyrics but read between the lines. This is a decdication to Pac that was 100% lyrical. Even more lyrical than "Who Shot Ya" which is a Lyrical Masterpiece.

Pac was a hypocrite, n da biggest 1 the rap game has ever seen(aside frum game bi polar ass)

The westcoast has never produced a actual real gangsta rapper (that was successful)
being a hypocrite has nothing to do with rap music. Try again bytch nikka.
