The suburbs
After Urkels recent comments about black sitcoms not being popular unless they’re hood ppl got on his ass and rightfully so.
People listed all the sitcoms in the 90s weren’t hood and we still loved them.

The only thing I disagree on is Martin. Martin was definitely a hood show or atleast a show with a lot of hood elements.

?

Bruh Man
Mama Payne
Roscoe
Shanaynay
Mad Dog
Jerome…

Even the way Pam & Martin went at each other

Martin definitely had a hood element that made it stand out.
It depends on what you consider hood. Shanaynay (I hated that character) was a business owner. I don’t know what made Bruh Man “hood”? What made Mama Payne “hood”? The only ones I’ll give you is Jerome and Mad Dog.

Characters you find in the hood and not the suburbs

Plenty of business owners in the hood, are you FBA?

i dont think i can define whats hood or not :whoa: but as a fan of the show i would say on a purely economical level, martin lived in a pretty nice apartment (by my standards anyway). im not sure what WZUP paid, but gina was a business woman so they could've been making 100-200k as a household in the 90s.

my main question is how did bruh man get to martins apartment? martin lived in 42, so bruh man was rappeling down from the fifth floor, and back up... usually with a sandwich

with no balconies

riddle me that @BrothaZay

She owned a hair salon, are hair salons not in the hood:gucci:?

Martin is hood, but when people say "hood" movies it usually means theres some criminal element or violence involved. Which is why i think some people are hesitant calling it a "hood show". But its more relateable for the average person who grew up in the hood, moreso than those "hood movies".
