the fact that he hasn't really made himself accesible to soundsystems for recording dubplates, which give artists a true link to true dancehall listeners.....

Let's get real tho, artist do dubs because of the money first and foremost(artist will do for anyone who is paying). And Sean has been a position where he didn't need that money.

You know how the Jamaican music industry works, artist only make money by voicing dubs, and stage shows.

Sean didn't need that dub money, once he got that record deal

fukk is you talking about....:mindblown:

Junior Reid is an international artist who has owns his own label and still gets checks off of cats like THE GAME who worked with him.....

and he still makes himself available for dubs......and he damn sho don't need the money..................

look at all the big time American artists who have cut dubs with soundsystems...

such as Tony Braxton (Kill-A-MAN-JARO), Lauryn Hill (King Addies), DMX (Stone Love) and Nas (Mighty Crown)

and YOU and I both know these SOUNDSYSTEMS are not giving out millions of dollars for these features...

it ain't even like that

young man it's obvious have limited knowledge of the "rub a dub" industry....:comeon:

as the great mic man Lee Major of the Earth Ruler soundsystem outta brooklyn once said..."it's NOT ALWAYS ABOUT THE MONEY...it's mostly the RELATIONSHIPS".....

Sean and his management team has burnt alot of bridges with dancehall industry guys back in jamaica because of thier tunnell vision focus on making him this big international pop star ...as evident in thier jumping ship to Atlantic and abandoning the whole VP camp which GAVE HIM HIS START which was the reason Mr. Vegas lashed out at him in the first place...

you should know that DANCEHALL is a grassroots genre...and if u don't recognize your roots ....then you basically turned your back on the culture which gave birth to you.............

but for the most part mi respeck Sean Paul i do appreciate his success and for the most part I HAVE ENJOYED HIS RADIO HITS....

I'd just wish he displayed more BALANCE by giving back to the soundsystem operators and selectors and fans back home in jamaica by having more of a real presence inna yard...........seen

They ain't giving out millions, but don't like voicing dubs ain't a crucial part of reggae/dancehall artist's income, in an industry where from the beginning, the producers are the ones who make all the money.

Off course he should voice a couple of dubs here and there, but for whatever reason, he doesn't want. Maybe being from Uptown, he doesn't get that part of the music, and truly understand that part of the culture(Clashing, Dubs, etc)

And money is a part of it, or Mighty Crown, wouldn't have come to prominence.

Buju and Beenie might want to know "wha gwan with dis thread, batty boi?"

Seriously. Sean Paul the King of Dancehall? :heh:

Plus you made your weak argument even weaker by not mentioning "Infiltrate" :whoo: and instead bringing up all of his latest Pop garbage.

OP is a dancehall noob. :troll:

Gimme light was not a pop song, that song was out a good two years, before the pop world got a hold of it.

Like glue, another song that was out way before it became a hit, and last time I checked, 'Get busy' was a tune off the Diwali riddim, and even 'Temperature' was off the Icebreaker riddim(I think).

So dude was not making hits off manufactured tunes, those were all official Dancehall Riddims, that many other deejays and singers voiced on, his just happen to be hits.

Oh no, i'm not suggesting dude is anywhere near King(I probably own a grand total of 5/6 tunes of his), but when some(not you) are acting like dude is some manufactured artist, then I gotta step in.
