damn should have posted it when I seen it lmao
You do know social media as we know it has been around since the late 80s right? The Internet and social networks are not a new thing. What do they teach you in school lol. Computers weren't even that expensive in the early 90s it's just that they weren't as popular then but it did exist and millions of people were using it. Only old people talk like that.

Man ZERO people had home internet in the late 80s bro. Barely anyone in regular neighborhoods had dial up internet in 1996.
The first popping social media platform was 2001 with College Club, followed up with Blackplanet.
And computers weren't expensive in the late 90s??? The hell?

The ads are trying to market high-end and business PCs, the retailer isn't going to advertise the cheapest thing they sell and not try to take more money from you that would just be bad business. Building a PC is always 1-2 thirds cheaper than buying a stock model. On top of that you're forgetting about inflation and this magazine's showing the latest tech of that year not prior models. The general population do not buy ALL of the latest tech whether it is video games, phones, computers, TVs etc. Many models sit on shelves for years before they go to the scrap heap for parts or recycling and then the prices get marked down considerably so the general consumers can finally afford them in order to reduce losses and make a profit by the manufacturer. This is commonsense. For example, say you love video games and you want to play every game as they release this year because you are paying attention to all of the marketing therefore if you had a ounce of sense you would maybe buy a few new video games as they release but over the years when they become dirt cheap that is when you buy them so you only end up spending $30 on 10 games instead of buying one game for $30 and then you haven't got the other 9 because you can't afford it. The only expensive thing about computers back then was the paying for the Internet as there wasn't a regulated standard, other than that if you had a decent job you could afford it the cost was like paying for cable now.Man, that is NOT how I remember it. Computers were expensive in the 90's, peep this ad. And that's 1994 money!
How old are you?Google social networks from 80s and 90s. Google is your friend. I studied computer science and this was taught there and in school.
Social networks like Facebook are just one type there are many others. They could be thread based like YouTube or comment based like TheColi they are all social networks. They did exist and Computer Science is taught in nearly all schools you just weren't aware which shows in your ignorance. How old are you?
Don't be stupid on the internet in 2017, how about that lol.
This dude talking about he was taught computer science in school and to "Google" what people actually lived through.
But since Google is my friend you moron, maybe Google isn't yours:
Complete History of Social Media: Then And Now
"The first recognizable social media site, Six Degrees, was created in 1997. It enabled users to upload a profile and make friends with other users. In 1999, the first blogging sites became popular, creating a social media sensation that's still popular today."
Oh and by the way that site was an utter failure that nobody can name w/on help of your friend, Google.
