When George Clinton put out "Flashlight", it didn't sound like his songs before. In fact, the song didn't sound too hot to us, again not like his songs before. But in less than two weeks, it became our number one song, and it would have the dance floor packed like I don't know what. Then every song he made for like the next two years, had the same effect of not sounding too hot the first time we heard it, then becoming number one with us within the next two weeks. It was like we were being hypnotized. I can still role with "Flashlight". It gave funk a whole new vibe.

I heard the lead singer was the one who green lighted the song "You" by Jessie Powell. Heard he was very particular about who sung his songs..
The song may not have been You...
I don't blame the lead singer, with all those hits "The Enchantments" put out. It may have been a different song than "You". That, or I just can"t tell anymore.
