We know you just don't like the WWE brand, and we're just supposed to bash that particular company; but the bolded would actually make a better thread.
If we talked about ALL of the racism in wrestling, that would be more relevant to this predominantly Black wrestling board. Lord knows we'd have plenty to discuss:
- WWF/E not having a Black World champion for decades.
- Jerry Lawler & Jerry Jarrett's racism in Memphis
- Ole Anderson's racism
- The racist treatment that Big Swole recieved from AEW fans when she left the company
- The racist treatment that Bianca Belair received from fans when she graced the WWE 2K24 cover
- The racism that Aja Kong faced from Japanese fans
- AEW only having one Black main eventer and no Black World Champions in five years of operation
- The multitude of racist angles that have run in WWF/E
- WCW being sued for racism
- Excalibur, Kevin Owens, & Jon Moxley using the n-word in an infamous angle
- Vince McMahon using the n-word in a segment
- Jerry Lawler calling Jacqueline Moore the n-word, according to New Jack
- Jim Cornette using the n-word
- MJF using the n-word
- Austin Gunn using the n-word
- Ric Flair using the n-word
- Brian Pillman Sr. using the n-word
- Vince & Linda McMahon being Trump supporters
- Shad (and most likely Tony) Khan being a Trump supporter
- Chris Jericho being a Trump supporter
- WWE & AEW only allowing Black wrestlers to ascend to a certain point
- Col. DeBeers having a pro-apartheid gimmick in the AWA
- The political leanings of CYN wrestling
- Dusty Rhodes basing his character on exaggerated Black stereotypes
Tbh, the above examples don't even scratch the surface of anti-Black racism in the wrestling business. Racism isn't limited to just one company, and to pretend that it is is either naive or dishonest. Let's expand the thread to discuss the bolded part of your original post.
