First of all, mass poaching is a modern phenomenon. Second, diseases mutate all the time, even when on their own. Diseases can be relatively harmless for hundreds of years and suddenly become deadly through mutation. That's just how mutation works.

Finally, the disease did NOT first appear in white homosexual males. That's just when it was finally identified as a disease. The disease travelled the world unnoticed before that because no one knew it existed. It was noticed in West Africa before that, but people did not realize it was a distinct virus causing the problem. Since AIDS does not kill you, but only makes you vulnerable to being killed by other, more conventional diseases, they just saw people dying from more everyday illnesses at higher rates and didn't think that a virus could be what was destroying their immune systems.

Actually, I'm in an Immunology course at this very minute. It's undergraduate, but pretty well done. Just finished my final on Friday. No one dies from rhinovirus unless they are severely immunocompromised. Like, unless they have AIDS. I know how important intestines are, but I personally think you're overvaluing them. Comparatively few virii reach that point because of low pH presented by the stomach and passive immunity in the respiratory and early GI tract. The only MAJOR viruses that will are Hep A and Rotavirus.

I stealth think that dolphins will get aids? I can't even begin to propose a situation in which that would happen outside of some crazy vet environment, and even if there was species->species transfer, it wouldnt even epidemize because of how disparate dolphin populations are.

Dont assume shyt about me, and if you're trying to go at my knowledge base at least try harder. Or propose a question id need to look at papers to figure out. Because the bolded is pathetic. Arms too short to box...
