I always thought Fab was corny.

Immediately. Like when he popped up on Clue's first album sounding like a Mase clone. He was always wild generic. Still is. I can honestly say that I haven't listened to any of dude's sh*t in years. Back in '05, I was into Loso's Way mixtape, but people online overrate his mixtape run too. That whole era was full of people taking average music and trying to convince everyone it was GOAT sh*t. Fab's catalogue included.

Cassidy was even cornier. Dude was like beyond corny.

Fab's track on the Backstage soundtrack was pretty fire. 'Gotta Be Thug" probably plays as pretty generic now but in 2000 the multi's were just fire to me at 14.

but I remember the That's The Way track lol - no one was really fukking with Fab until those Triangle Offense songs. I had the Professional in 1998 but played that song for the Mase verse.

I remember being a kid and thinking that "Gotta Be A Thug" beat was dope, for like two weeks. Then it was like, 'WTF am I thinking?" HAHA!

Clue's my dude, but he would have you feeling like wack sh*t was actually dope. Until you realized that you just got got.

I'm ready to address the haters and underestimaters
hop in the truck, ride up on ya'll like escalators
hit ya chest up, leave you hooked to respirators
bed ridden talkin' to investigators
now these ladies will do anything just to date us
'cause we skate around on ice like escapaders
dressed in Gators, in peace I'm restin' haters

the punchline era had me feeling exactly like that years later. Fun as a kid though.

As a kid, it definitely worked!

But then once I would take time to think about some of the stuff I was listening to, it would be like, "Wait a minute." LOL!!

We give Breathe its props but thats where it stops.

I never understood anyone who argued that Fab was a Hov heir apparent. That was always crazy talk to me.

Dont even get me started on that shyt right there fam :beli:

My dawg tried to tell me with a straight face Losos Way (the album AND the mixtape) were BOTH better than American Gangster

I lost a friend that day cause I said some hurtful shyt about bros intelligence :mjcry:

I always thought fab was hot garbage.

I thought Fab was a “Nick Cannon” type of rapper. I didn’t even know nyggas took him seriously until I came on this site years ago.

My first introduction to him was “can’t deny it,”
which is one of the corniest records I’ve ever heard.

I'm way behind the curve on new hot shyt. My nieces tell me all my new favorite songs are old lol ..which is true...I've been one foot in and one foot out of things and I know the names but I wasn't checking for people that I grew up on either...I hear stuff randomly, but I wasn't still don't really seek out as much as I used to ...it's definitely an age thing with me ..that said...

This is the first time I heard fabs version of cold summer. I heard banks randomly, and it's been in my playlist since. I didn't even know he flipped a fab song.

However, I definitely prefer banks version to fabs. I don't think that would have changed if I heard fabs first .

Topic at hand is meh whatever to all of it lol
