True. Disregard.

:hubie:
His father was killed in the city I was raised in. Lansing's dirty little secret is that there was a white supremacists group there that was responsible for the death of a prominent member of the black community :mjpls:.

What's crazy is that Malcolm attended school in Mason which is a small town just south of Lansing. I know he caught hell there back then, because even today that place is real :mjpls:.

Nevada: either Money May, or Colin Kaepernick.
Might be a debate on that one...

Maryland has to be either Harriet Tubman or Frederick Douglas.

In the last 30-40 years, I would say either Sugar Ray Leonard or Martin Lawrence.
Everyone here that says Maryland just keeps ignoring Kevin Durant :snoop:

Malcolm X

Caught me slippin :patrice:

Hold a lil rep

Over Malcolm tho? I might give the edge to Malcolm on that one.

Almost feels blasphemous.

Magic's more famous than Malcolm X worldwide.

Only really Black people and leftists care about Malcolm X in world sense.

Magic Johnson is one of the most famous people living.

When he came down HIV positive in 1991, literally every channel cut into programming to cover the press conference.

Dude was on the Dream Team and played for the Lakers, come on.

If it's not him, it's some of those Motown people like Stevie or Aretha, who are worldwide known too.

Define from that state?
  • Born
  • Raised
  • Born and raised?
  • The state they are most associated with?
We need answers.
New York brehs might try to pick off from NC

This needs to be ironed out

Me personally, I think it should be where you spent your most formative years.

Like MJ born in BK, but everybody knows his country ass from NC

I’d say R. Kelly and Kanye more famous than him easily. I’ll throw Richard Pryor out there as well

What are you 17?

Miles Davis is easily one of the most famous musicians who ever lived in any era.

You may have a point with Michelle, I don’t think most people worldwide would know she from Chicago or associate her with Chicago.

chance the rapper more popular than rose :mjlol:

Dude, most people don't know the Obamas are from Chicago?:dwillhuh:

The obamas aren’t born in Chicago if birthplace is what we’re using, only Michelle is and no I don’t think the a lot of the world knows or cares about that :francis:

I thought about this before I said rose and just off the fact he’s associated with the Chicago bulls and was/is still very popular in China, the most populous country in the world would probably making him more famous when it comes to Chicago/Illinois.

worldwide the Obama’s are associated with the presidency and the United States in general :yeshrug:
