Lets Discuss What went wrong with Bernie Sanders' campaign ?

Biden has no reason to debate. He already debated Bernie 1v1 and afterwards swept the primaries. Before that, he debated the field multiple times. It's over.
And yes his press secretary is deranged. Look up videos of her talking, you can tell there's something off about her. These are cult members, and it's impossible to satisfy them so why try. Kamala supports universal healthcare yet still gets attacked. Why? Because the policies don't matter. What matters is whether you support Bernie or not.
I'm not upset about Bernie remaining in the race though. At this point it's clear even if he left, his people would still be sniping at Biden. Is there any benefit to Biden being the nominee right now? He has no ability to break through due to the virus. So why not wait and maybe in a month or two when Biden officially reaches the delegate total, the news will matter. I guess the only downside is that Biden won't receive his official DNC warchest until then but...clearly he has enough money to throw out anti-Trump ads on twitter until then. He should be fine.

Bernie is using his donor list and his online presence to talk about COVID response and relief, getting donations to charities and all that. Which is a productive use of the campaign platform during this time.
And Briahna's tweet, while right on its merits, was tone deaf quoting a Senator who lost her mom to cancer.

He shouldn’t have hired Briahna. She isn’t qualified for that position at all, and it shows.
I really dislike her. Her people skills are terrible. Bernie main problem was not having a better team around him.
In retrospect, I think Bernie's biggest mistake was over-reliance on young voters.
There's nothing wrong with appealing to young voters (Obama did the same) but you can't rely exclusively on the least reliable voting bloc. Numbers dictate that you need a bigger coalition.
The other thing that really hurt Bernie, IMO, was just circumstance. Obama wasn't running against a Republican incumbent...Bush was already on the way out. Whereas against Trump, people REALLY don't want another four years of him and are just risk averse about nominating a socialist.

Was it right on the merits, when the senator supports medicare for all? Why is she even trying to score political points against democrats right now. Much less a democrat who agrees with her. This is why he lost guys. A cult fanbase that attacks anyone who doesn't support him 100%. And this is why I said ages ago that the party would be stupid to try to out-flank Sanders on the left. It's impossible because his base does not care about policy. They care about Bernie.
There always is a “but” or “however”. This is about as straight and cut of an L as one could take. Just call it that and keep it moving.
This man lost for a lot of reasons. And he attracts certain people for other reasons. I’ll leave it at that.
