Where is he escaping blame? Pats fans are largely getting at him just like they did in 06 versus Denver and in 2011 versus the Jets. They just also know that if you get hit more times in a single game than any QB has all season, you're not going to win. Besides all that, the media is not going to create a Tom Brady choker narrative when his entire career is the exact opposite. Even until the end the Pats had a chance because of crucial 4th down throws by Brady. No other QBs in the league besides Rodgers and maybe Cam give you a chance to win in that scenario today. Do you want me to create a Kobe is a choker narrative because he missed a gamewinner versus the Mavs in 2011? It does not work that way. Reputations are built over time.

Peyton has shown plenty of times he was clutch so has Brees and a couple of other qbs

Reality: Von's the best defensive player in the league and he beat them single handedly.

Patriots fire offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo
The dismissal represents a sharp turn of events for DeGuglielmo, who had been praised this season for his work with an offensive line hit hard by injuries to several starters.

But Sunday's events were seismic enough to prompt immediate change on Patriot Way. Brady is the face of the franchise and the team's most valuable player. That he took more hits in one game than any quarterback had all season was simply unacceptable, and Monday's move tells you just how unhappy head coach Bill Belichick must have been.

According to NFL Research, Brady took 20 hits in the game, including four sacks. Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reviewed the game tape and believes Brady was hit a whopping 25 times.

DeGuglielmo feels like a victim of circumstance more than anything. He was coaching up a patchwork line protecting a slow-footed 38-year-old passer against arguably the best defense in football. DeGuglielmo ran out of answers on Sunday, and it cost him his job.

Its harsh af but I somewhat respect it. Can't have these types of situations and folks feeling comfortable. I bet some of those Olinemen sweating bullets because Marcus Cannon for one was extremely trash the entire game. Cut-worthy.

Yes, the offensive-line was banged up this season, but someone was going to take the fall for it. Belichick almost NEVER fires a coach, especially after the season just ended. When you rank 25th-31st in almost EVERY offensive-line category, there is a problem.

You'd think Brady was the first QB to face major, consistent pressure in a playoff game. Every QB is gonna struggle with that, as Brady has demonstrated numerous times in the past. It's just hilarious that folks are acting like these are new developments. We knew the Pats had a patchwork line coming into the game. We knew Denver's front was ferocious. Majority of folks still picked the Pats and you had folks saying that Brady's quick release would neutralize the rush...talking bout how he doesn't need an o-line because he gets rid of it that fast. It's amazing how thorough the analysis gets when certain guys/teams lose.

That first pick from Brady to Miller was a terrible throw but that second one Kline completely whiffed on malik Jackson which caused Brady to have to throw it early, still not a good decision though.

I'll put my life savings on the pats making the AFCCG next year, majority of their roster is under contract, they should be stacked

And you failed to mention how trash the Colts defense was:heh:

There were so many times when Peyton would be on the sidelines watching leads squander because the Colts gave up big play after big play. Peyton did his job, the defense played poorly and who took the brunt of the blame...., Peyton :francis:

This was always the case with those Colts teams. Peyton didn't have the luxury of making a mistake like Brady. I remember the Super Bowl against NO, with the halftime added, Peyton didn't touch the ball for almost an hour and a half of real time. Yet him and Wayne miscommunicate on a route that led to a pick 6 and all nuance goes out the window about that game and it just becomes "Peyton didn't get it done".

A month ago the Pats had no problems moving the ball in Denver without a totally healthy offense. Nobody saw this coming

While I agree with your overall premise, that is one of the few example where the bolded was accurate. Peyton fukked up right there and there is no excuse.
