There's no way to extrapolate that time and imprint it onto present day.
It was just a whole different mindstate back then.
Back then, even the hardest cats had SOME spirituality/intelligence/racial pride about themselves.
They were the children born out of a time where "freedom fighters"/black nationalism was at an all time high.
The 80's made them more rugged, but they were wayyyyy more conscious than the present generation.Stronger minds imo.
That's why Nas could drop an Illmatic as a Teen.....Pac writing songs like Brendas Got A Baby at 19
It's 50 year old rappers who couldn't pull that off today.
Present day is just a shell of the past.Watered down, commercialized bullshyt.
Back then, it wasn't about simping for chicks....it was more about racial pride. You could call a black woman a Queen "Mother Of Civilization" and not be on some sucker shyt
I guess this would be looked at as the " "/ simp anthem today?
You got to put yourself in today's mindset. If Pac was one of the current generation rappers he'd be getting shyt on left and right. Not saying he wouldn't have his fanbase but I could only imagine the types of threads the coli would be making on him
