Like Goku didnt use Spirit Bomb over and over. At least Naruto doesnt take 6 episodes to use rasengan.

Goku used the spirit bomb sparingly in life or die situations and even then it wasn't this broken retarded plot mess, Naruto uses rasengan just about every damn chapter. The spirit bomb ain't take over and destroy the quality of the manga the same way sharingan and rasengan spam has. Goku had dragon fist, kaoiken, transformation, kamehameha, instant transmission, ki blasts, solar flare, clones, he had a diverse respectable move pool.

50 chapters into Naruto we had like 3 big events happen already

Fairy Tail Straight, Natsu though. Gang and Yusuke are a ton a lot more interesting than these dime a dozen deus ex "nakama power" herbs. I wish someone like zaraki had his own manga.

Plot in DBZ? The plot was alien shows up, Goku kicks his ass. Goku dies, they wish him back, Goku kicks alien ass.


Also your problem with rasengan isnt a problem with the character Naruto, its with the way the manga is set up in general. Most of the characters in the manga have one move they use in specific situations. Shikimaru has shadow bind, Neji has Bakugan, Gai opens gates, Gaara moves sand, Minato teleports, etc..... Very few non-sharingan characters have a diverse move set i would say thats Jiraiya, Orochimaru, and 3rd Hokage.

Krillan has more moves than most Naruto characters.

I'm a big fan of both, I don't think it's really fair to compare FMA to One Piece, because one is a manga that came out like once a month and was planned to be a set number of chapters from the start. OP has been going for 15+ years and has almost 700 chapters.

FMA definitely gets more to the point than OP and things happen faster, but it's a much shorter manga. The fact that OP has been going since 97 and is still interesting (and there are no real plotholes) is actually pretty amazing. It would be more fair to compare OP to something like DBZ, Naruto, etc.

That said, I'd say they're about equal but almost two different categories. FMA is exactly how to write a short manga with a set length and no BS filler, whereas OP is exactly how to write a long-term manga and keep it interesting.


On topic, I'd say Naruto (at least when Sasuke's not involved) and Yusuke are pretty good characters.

One Piece is the shyt once Luffy gathers a bit of his crew, i def starts off slow, but that's the beauty of it, it takes time to introduce why Luffy chooses these people for his crew and build backstories....that's probably my favorite manga of all time lol, the whole thing is thought out and planned out, there are no cheatcodes like in bleach and fairy tail, Luffy actually gets his ass whooped and people do die and he runs away from fights when he is losing, shyt is just good storytelling.
