Let's be honest Dragonball Z was better b4 everybody turned into a Super Saiyan

I'm finally getting around to watching Dragonball and I have to say it is a great fukking show.

Super-Saiyan not having a drawback didn't help either. Great power with less control control type shyt. I mean, Goku/Vegeta/Trunks obtained it through a fit of rage, no? The risk/reward woulda made for some interesting plot devices.

I think thats why they incorporate tournaments, its a way for them to involve the lesser powerful characters

Basically had them go from main characters to guest spots and throwback references.

The fact is those other characters were basura regardless. Its not a shonen anymore and its focues purely on fighting. If you are a sub par fighter on the current power scales, be lucky you even get any screen time at all let alone a few episodes based solely on you in this tournament. No one cares to see Krillin, Roshi, or Tien and thats just an unfortunate truth. The few that do arent the majority. These arent fan favorites that arent getting shine. Theyre practically irrelevant with the exception of main character ties. If Krillin wasnt Goku's best friend, he's Puar status.

I prefer DB over DBZ. I feel like DB is groundbreaking and has a lot of heart. It's the introduction to the characters we all know in Z but they all are relevant. ALL OF THEM. Tien was a fukking beast dog. That tournament a classic. The piccolo saga damn near perfection. I enjoyed every tournament. There is no out of nowhere power level ups.

I love DBZ though. Its still classic as well. However, DB imo just takes out all the power levels and its just more straight forward. Fights, stories, and characters.
DB is a lot more funnier too. And like I said it has a lot of heart that makes you respect the show.
